It's just a false jump probably to get people to jump the wrong direction or try out tricks. Doesn't help you or give you any prize. They were messing around with it on the live stream earlier.

With its location and placement it wouldn't seem like it's meant to trick people, you wouldn't notice it racing along the normal track, it's right by the start/finish
