I was watching some Destiny videos about the Dawning and such, and i found so many Youtubers complaining about the current state of Destiny. I have to say, i really disagree. I've been playing Destiny since some time around TDB. I don't go on too often; an hour or two a day if I'm lucky. More than that is rare. Right now, I'm enjoying Destiny more than ever before (Excluding my sudden appalling connection drop since the removal of SBMM). There's just so much to do! -Archon's Forge armour has a perfect drop rate. It's abysmally low, and it really brings back the grind, but to a manageable degree. I'm sitting at over 400 victories in the forge, and my Hunter is the only one with a full set. -I can grind strikes for Skeleton keys (Which will be even better with scoring). I really want that SIVAfied Bond and Mark, and of course i want a decent Grasp & Imago Loop. -I can run the raid for Legendary Engrams Searching for that goddam elusive Triple tap and Casket mag Void Event Horizon, for the shader and for the gear. -I'm yet to give HM a shot, so that should be fun. -And i can do HM challenge mode. -I can grind PoE for that infuriatingly elusive Explosive rounds Hand of Judgement, and all the other awesome HoJ weapons. Not to mention doing sigils for that sweet fallen armour (Although, that has a negative side too. I once had to do 14 Sigils just to get back my old Fallen helmet). -I can do Nightfalls for potential 400LL gear. -I can farm for legendary marks, to get all those awesome new vendor weapons. -Don't forget CoO! I can do that instead of Archon's forge for easy Eris rep (Through those bounties), and try for a better roll on the cloak (which i personally really like, i know it's unpopular). -Also, i can do Record book specific tasks to get the cool Emblems, Shader, material packages and ship. -I can complete Petra bounties for that amazing Queen's set. -I can get that Weekly guaranteed legendary engram from public events. -There's the (pretty useless) weekly patrol quest. -There's Quite a few Exotic weapon quests I'm yet to finish. -Do some test weapons for Banshee. -Patrols (I saw a video were this guy did patrols for ages, then he went up like 40 DO ranks through the stuff he got from it). -You can grind for reputation for really good faction/ vanguard/ crucible weapons. -I can do Y1 raids for nostalgia, shaders, emblems and sexy gear. -I can mess around with my buddies with my Golden Age lens. -I can try and complete my Grimoire (Which is still way off finished). -I'm a bit obsessed with customisation, and so i love creating sick new looks, which of course, i have to earn the gear for. So i go back and do Y1 activities for Y1 legendary engrams, farm for exotics and etc. -Messing around with the character creation screen is always fun (But starting I'm splitting hairs now) And that's [u]just PvE[/u] and I'm sure I've missed a few things. For PvP, i can: -Farm for a complete set of Exclusive weapons (just need that Hopscotch pilgrim) -Private matches! -ToO -IB (when it's around) -Do challenges -test weapons -test banshee weapons -Go for Grimoire wins -Be a badass For a Casual, this is really... just amazing. I remember in TTK, all i would do was just run strikes, and the occasional crucible match, cause i wasn't quite up to the ability required for KF. And it looks set to get even better. The Dawning looks amazing. And they're bringing up the Argus Diematic/ Wolf Pelt Weave set up to Legendary with -blam!-ing [i]chroma[/i]. I've waited for two freaking years for this moment. And of course, SRL. And that Santa Samurai armour. And Strike Scoring. And Nightfall bounties. And that green Y1 warlock set they showcased (Bringing up Y1 greens?) I'm just sad i'll be away for the second half, so I'm probably going to buy some boxes, so i can actually get the armour set before it goes away forever. But hey, isn't that what microtransaction boxes should be for? For people who are impatient / unable to get an adequate amount. EDIT: I'm not saying Destiny is perfect. I'm no Bungie Defender, it's i just love what they're doing right now (excluding SBMM's removal). I still think no form of rerolling is just stupid. It seems getting the goddam gun in the first place isn't even a quarter of the battle. And i hate that the hanged man makes class items white. I needed that to be black for my look. And PS exclusives suck for both sides. And.... yeah. You get the idea. EDIT #2: And now my Hunter is looking so beautifully ugly. He looks like a true wild badass. A sinister unusual Eris cloak. Scavenged murky white astronaut arms. A Fallen helm scavenged from the house of Wolves. Functional industrial visibility worker pants. I'll leave him up for like 12 hours.
