Primaries need a buff
People pick on clever dragon because it's the only good primary

Why are you saying that's the only good one there's plenty that are useable EX: Palendrome Matador64( People use it as a primary) Universal No Land Beyond B29 Party Factor Any Faction pulse Spare Change Iron banner weapons by themselves Trials primary's are pretty good Eyesuluna Revelator Almost all Legendary hand cannons PoE Primaries are good Basically what I'm saying if you like weapons like autos pulses hand cannons and scout rifles are useable gun skill out ranks the actual weapons stance in a game Ex khovostov in year 1 or 2 people used it as mainly a joke but did do well. ( unless they sucked at it then that doesn't count) Also Suros is pretty good

Inaccuracy at scout ranges? What is that? Doctrine of passing fire rate with more or same precision damage as a medium auto rifle? Massive amounts of stagger? The ability to put someone at near death from a glancing look? That's why you use clever dragon. It's extremely effective on every map other than combined arms. It's counters all primary types the majority of the time. Do primaries, auto rifles that is, need a buff, yes. As it stands now, every primary would have to be buffed to og vex level to not be shredded at scout rifle ranges, every time, by high rof pulse rifles. That is why you use it so stfu about buff primaries. This was apparent since grasp became available and handcannons and autos got ridiculous damage falloff values. These high rof pulse rifles put too much -blam!-ing dps down range. Period. There's no denying it so stop.

High impact pulse rifles need a buff. Would be awesome to be able to 2 burst headshot kill with a spare change lol but knowing bungie it won't happen. Primaries definitely need a buff tho, whatever they decide to do I'll just go along with it.

By buffing stability or damage output on slow ROF AR and Pulse rifles. Removing bloom on HC, HCR on Mida Mult Tool again

5 RepliesCD isn't the only "good" primary it is just easy to pick up, very forgiving, and people don't like trying to improve. Once you become even a mediocre scout or HC user and learn to use cover effectively you can out gun CD like its nothing.

Clever dragon is consistent, all the time, thats what makes it so good, at close/mid range handcannons still win. As long as your shot isnt garbage

Right now high fire-rate pulse rifles just happen to do that. Everything else is still good, it's just that high fire-rate pulse rifles are easy to use, are forgiving if you miss and have perfect range for the majority of Crucible maps.

Slow RoF with High Impact just isn't rewarding enough for its difficulty when compared to Doctrine and Grasp. Hand Cannons are the exception, with Mid taking the clear lead

The primaries aren't so much the issue as it is almost everyone has adopted the super aggressive, rushing playstyle. By constantly charging towards your opponents, you put yourself into a high risk/high reward situation so you would be crazy to not use a shotgun. Then when you add the players that want to fight fire with fire plus the players that use shotguns because that's just their favorite type of special weapon you get matches that are 100% filled with shotgunners. It doesn't help that map design strongly compliments the close quarters game.

24 RepliesI actually feel like primaries are fine. Shotguns are fine. Snipes need a slight buff. It's just people don't know how to use a primary. Like, palindrome, I love stupid shotguners. Or clever dragon, gl tryna snipe me. Side arm, just back up. Clever dragon is also not the only good primary. Tlw, still a beast, hawksaw, still amazing. Mida, yup, still good. Distant star will melt your face, all the trials primaries are good. Don't mistake the lack of good primaries with the lack of ability and or willingness to use them. At least once a game today in ib I'd laugh at ppl trying to rush from ridiculous distances and I'd primary melt them.

5 RepliesNope. Primaries are in a good place. The amount of special ammo available in games is the problem. Crates should drop less per pickup, meaning more primary engagements. If there was less ammo for 'special' weapons, we'd all use it for 'special' occasions. No more shotgun warriors. No more hardscope campers. More time to use our lovely primary weapons and build up our thumbskill again.
