I heard from some people that armor stats really dont matter alot and that i should just wear the armor that looks good so is it true that armor stats dont matter much?

New game on anor londo >gets killed 7 times wearing magic resistant armor >goes fashionsouls >wins first try Fashion is a hidden stat. Dont take that stat lightly.
-
The only thing that really matters is that everything you have equipped makes your equipment ratio lower than 70% which is the threshold for fat rolling. Other than that wear whatever you want just have armor in every slot

Fashion > Stats
-
Wear the dumbest outfit possible and u should be good
-
Is looking good a stat? If so, then yes.
-
Armour doesn't really affect your performance. As long as you have a piece in each slot and aren't fat rolling then all is good. Go with what looks best and you can keep up the manoeuvrability with (FASHION SOULS!!!)
-
As long as you have a piece of armor in each slot it doesn't matter all to much. Your roll speed is far more crucial.
-
There is one incredibly important stat but it's hidden. FSN (fashion) you can't check it in the stats screen but If you have to ask, get your FSN up!
-
Honestly, as long as you're wearing something that's actually armor, even if it's just like the Fallen Knight set, you'll be perfectly fine. Wearing robes, Master's Attire, or being naked will almost double the damage you take.

If you pvp hyper armor, aka: the Poise stat, may or not matter depending on weapon choice. With a heavy weapon+some Poise you'll be more able to trade. That is, you're not as likely to be knocked out of your attack animations. General rule of thumb though, never trade with a weapon larger than the person carrying it. Even with hyper armor, it never ends well. Or bosses. Bad idea. Numbers are really only important in corner case situations and boss fights.

FASHION SOULS BOIZZZZ

It's all about the fashion.
-
Just fashion souls and put on the steel protection ring
-
The stats on armor matter more against bosses. As long as you have armor in every slot and a shield/weapon in your off hand you'll be fine against random enemies.

Fashion souls

Wear whatever makes you look awesome.
-
As long as you arent fat rolling and your at at least 15-20% damage absorption its fine. Some can matter to a certain degree for certain builds or bosses, but it really doesnt.
-
For most stuff you're good wearing light armor but for bosses wear something heavier.
-
Just keep your weight ratio below 70% and you're good wearing whatever.
