Whenever a crucible problem arises and someone posts their opinion on forurms and it's bound to have that one person saying: "Your K/D is lower than mine, your thought is irrelevant." or something of that caliber.
Do you really think just because they do poorly in the game mean they don't have a say in what's good or bad in the crucible?
Why or why not?
Discuss.
P.S ELO is fake. Don't use it to judge someone.

Edited by Sirpooptash: 12/10/2016 10:26:48 PMDepends on the person. You have try hards. And trails people who live or die for PvP. And their kd means everything to them when they set out to accomplish something in game. There are people who take a little time but eventually get into crucible and want to improve their kd to show their skill increasing. Then you have people like me. Who do not care one bit about kd. I don't care about getting to lighthouse. And when I go into the crucible I will do what ever I want. Dance, dive of maps. What ever I want to enjoy my own crucible experience in my own way. There is no right or wrong to be honest. As long as your enjoying yourself then the game is worth it. I care as much about the top 1% as much as I do streamers not at all. People seriously need to calm the fùck down. Stop hate mail and all this "you should want to get better" boĺløcks and let people enjoy it. And to all who disagree well tuff shıt

Let's be honest here. People with genuine high KD's are good at the game. In my experience, good players don't just play the game, they understand it and know why things happen and how to make things happen at their will. I've yet to meet a 0.5 KD guardian who is a God and knows everything about the crucible and how to use guardians to the best of their abilities.

"I am 0.60 but I play the objective" ~captures B, but failed to defend it. Enemies got it back ~does 0.60 in clash. You're not helping. ~does 0.60 in supremacy. Everytime you die, there's a enemy to pick up your crest. ~does 0.60 in rift. Wtf? Who does that? ~does 3.60, more than 20 kills in any 6v6 playslist: you helped a lot. Each time you kill someone, this guy has to spawn, and it takes time to spawn and run to the objective again. Within ~20 seconds, your team can do A LOT. K/d matters.
-
Yes, stfu with this crap.
-
Yes kd matters. There is not a single game mode in this entire game where you can consistently go negative and not be a detriment to your team. This whole stigma that kd doesn't matter is a load of crap. I'm not even that good of a player. I'm mostly a trials player and I average about a 1.5 in trials from week to week. But you're not gonna see me trying to act like I'm better than a player with a 2.0 average kd. Because statistically, I'm not. Numbers don't lie. Yes elo can be farmed and so can kd to an extent but the simple fact is that in order to farm those things you still have to WIN and GET KILLS.
-
It depends, when someone's talking to an elite player like they're one too but they have a 0.34 kd than yes. But me I'm not a bad player, definitely not elite though, but if someone were to tell me how to play the game and they have a 0.11 kd, then that would be very irrelevant
-
Both that and ELO do, to an extent. The simple fact is, the vast majority of players with high ELO and K/D earned the stat that they have. I know from personal experience that increasing your ELO legitimately is damn hard.
-
If a decimal in a game makes you feel "dominant", you are clearly delusional. The cure of this is to stop worrying about a number that means nothing to the majority. If you are competitive cool congrats, but don't bash others for not sharing your point of view.
-
Yes, it's the most important thing there is! That's why I maintain such a KD
-
I guess if you don't plan on ever touching a woman then it matters.

No, most kd hogs are pathetic players that sit back and steal kills. Kd+A is the real skill factor.
-
No because like all stats it can be boosted if you put the time into doing so
-
Yes it does, but its not the only stat that matters. The weapons you use and the subclasses you use matter as well.. If PlayerA uses a Plaindrone/Matador/Stormtrance while PlayerB uses a Pulse/Sniper/Gunslinger and both have the same K/D.. i would say the PlayerB is more skilled because he does not rely on ising a shotgun and an Op super to get kills.

As far as a say in balancing k/d isn't as important as let's say time played, I have friends with over 100 days in time played in pvp but there k/d are in the 1.0 -1.5 range, so they should have a say in balance.
-
Edited by EdeTheGod: 12/9/2016 10:39:22 PMShips matter. Going into an IB match solo, if I see loads of end-game ships I think that I might be able to play a bit less cautiously than seeing a squadron of early game stuff when I think this is going to be a bit tough. If someone were paying me to play Destiny I would be a bit more concerned about KD...
-
Chicks dig a guy with big k/d.
-
I wish I could say no but the fact that I've dropped under 1.0 lately is really pissing me off.
-
Heck yeah bro. If you don't have a 2.00+ k.d and if we're doing trials I'm labeling it as a carry
p.s I carried you
-
No it's just their fall back excuse when they don't have something intelligent to say
-
Edited by TB: 12/9/2016 5:17:45 PMOn a serious note, no. Anyone that concerned with numbers in a video game has severe psychological and social issues. However, when you have people who whine about weapon balance when they average a .25, I feel that needs to be left out. No offense but if your just bad, don't act like you're the guru on weapon balancing.
Anyone gets pissed, I got the mute button ready
I think that all people should have a say in matters of pvp. However it's not hard to believe that those who are better at something arguably (or perhaps those who just play at higher levels or have put more time into a genre of pvp game) can explain and understand balance better than others. Bungie has protected worse players with nearly every pvp change they've implemented since y1 destiny. Granted a lot of those things were broken or cheesy but arguably it took skill. Nowadays we can just warrior with jug and arc lock melees from one end of shores of time to another. Just saying that almost people on the forums aren't very talented. Ie anybody complaining abt shoulder charge or gunslinger. Massive amounts of people who weren't good (and probably aren't) enough to outplay it and refused to put in effort to change their play style enough to allow for them to beat it. Put any decent player against them and they'll tell you that it was never broken. I think kd matters. But what kd distinguishes between less and more valuable information is arguable.
im a 45 true skill in trials of Osiris and am top 1% according to destiny tracker just for the record. Not saying I'm good, just better than quite a bit of the community <3
-
No. it depends on what you play. who you play. and how you play. in a 6v6 your KD should be higher than for example free for all. who you play its also a factor because it depends on your opponent they might be better than others. how you play is a huge factor. maybe you are a defensive sniper or shotty so your KD will be higher, but if you are pushing and just running around you will trade a lot.
-
K/D is a way to judge how a player's decision-making and skills come to fruition on average but in no way does it dictate whose opinions matter and don't.
-
The only one I care about is ToO, most people who play that play seriously
-
The only important thing is that you're having fun.
