Strike-Spoilers follow
Of the three remastered Strikes Cayde-6 commentates over two of them, Nexus & Omnigul, but as far as I know he doesn't have any Dialogue for Taniks Perfected, who killed his mentor Andal Brask.
I get it, we all love Cayde, he's hilarious and more wisecraking is always welcome but this was an opportunity to make him a full three dimensional character by showing a serious, mournful or even vengeful side to him, he has a personal connection to Taniks that's never been mentioned in-game, and it's an awful shame that it won't be explored
I am pretty serious at times,
-
Well we do see him mourn for the loss of a hunter during the night stalker quest and we do see the side of vengeance of him in the quest too
-
No. they showed us what they think "more serious and vengeful" looks like. It's lord salad pants 😑 talk about boring af!
-
Name one time bungie has gotten the lore in game correct
-
That would've been great if they put that in there. When I was doing the Nightstalker quest, I loved how they showed an emotion other than sarcastic and funny. I wish Cayde was in charge of more.
-
Cayde doesn't comment over the nexus or omnigul, but it would have been good to see a different side to him. I hate the vanguard, but more complex story elements are no bad thing.
-
I don't count myself among the ranks of those who love Cayde but I agree, this is a missed opportunity, if true. It would lovely to see a side of Cayde that isn't this wisecracking jackass. It would be nice to be shown that he actually cares about something other than having fun and wanting to get out of the Tower. We got tiny hints of it during the Night stalker mission when we find Tevis dead but other than that...nope. If he got to the position of hunter Vanguard, there must be more to him than this laissez faire, too cool for school attitude and this would have been a golden opportunity to demonstrate it. Ah well.
-
They better hope they make destiny two filled with a story. Because that is what our community has been wanting and saying. They'd be crazy not to.
-
I hear that the intro for the Omingul remake is that she just up & brought herself back to life. No rhyme or reason. Just...poof. They don't know what to do at this point. I'm worried about the sequel
-
The whole game is a missed lore opportunity; what good do grimoire cards do if they aren't accessible in their own game? Better yet, actually tell the lore in-game instead of hiding it all behind cards.
-
And I think the REAL missed opportunity here is Cayde and Variks Dialogue. That would be hilarious.
-
Missed lore opportunity
Did you mean Destiny?
-
Lol you think they give a shit about lore? They're just reskinning things to give us more to do so we keep playing!
-
And they still did nothing about the Saber 2 strike
-
Oh shit dude you are right. It would have been cool to see that serious side of cayde-6. I wonder if it even came up as an idea?
-
I get you, however, this whole game had a lot of potential for lore, and it failed us. They have failed this community.
-
This whole game is a missed opportunity...
-
The problem is that we all clearly need to buy more silver. Then Bungie will finally give us what we want....probably.....maybe....it's not happening
-
Wait how do u know what he says in the strike before its out??
-
Your face is a missed lore opportunity!
Oh damn! Somebody call the burn unit!
-
Question: Hive can revive themselves?
-
I think it'd be more suitable to make a reference to Andal Brask, rather than Cayde coming right out and saying "This guy killed my mentor. F*ck him up." As someone else said, Cayde isn't one to talk about his feelings. It'd be nice if they had a strike exclusive weapon or armor piece that referred to Andal Brask himself.
-
-
Cayde doesn't like to talk about his feelings
-
It's not Cayde, it's ripoff Cayde.
-
Grimoire that's all the story we get from destiny, it's a cheap cop out way that takes away from what we deserve, a good story driven pve experience that makes you actually bond with your Guardian, like I felt when playing commander Sheppard in mass effect.
