This will be challenge mode. Must sacrifice empowerment every round. Mark my words.

In b4 i told ya so
-
Challenge mode will be the same ppl must use the cannons. It doesn't change the game play in the sense that you will be forced to do it to beat him but it's enough to make it hellish for teams that aren't very good
-
Unlikely. Like the warpriest it will be a shared responsibility. Everyone must slam, everyone must throw a bomb, or whatever. A sacrifice every round would be the most difficult challenge to bring to the boss fight.
-
Don't think so. A challenge always involved a mechanic that you use in the normal fight. Supercharge is not required. I would guess something with the cannons, like don't have same ppl running cannons before each DPS phase.
-
The challenge mode involves completing the encounter how Bungie originally planned for you to complete it. For example closing the clean rooms with Siva charges was never the normal way people did the encounter but it was always the way Bunge intended for the encounter to be completed. The Supercharge mechanic on Aksis is there for a reason and is part of the fight much like the Siva charges and the clean rooms are there for Vosik's.
-
A challenge always involved a mechanic that you use in the normal fight
And the mechanic has been there since day 1....this is no different than hitting the doors with the bombs for Vosiks.
-
You can argue that being empowered is required. So doing supercharge would be the optional "challenge" mode
-
Empowered is required, but supercharge is their only to help. It isn't one of the mechanics required to beat the boss. Just look at all KF's challenges, the challenge always involved a required mechanic (aura, gaze, bombs). In this logic, can be wrong off course, supercharge cannot make part of the challenge. As empowered is random I don't see empowerment being involved in the challenge at all.

Edited by RailMango: 11/3/2016 12:34:20 PM(As for Vosik) The balls that drop during DPS are also only there to help and the clean rooms are required which also go random.
-
I agree, why else would they put it in there, you don't need it for the actual fight.
-
I doubt it. The challenge mode will require everybody to throw at least one bomb. Take that to the bank.
-
Can't be done. Unless you're a warlock.
-
Yes it can, you switch the cannon people and bomb people each round so everybody throws a bomb at one point
-
Lol. Empowered thro. Then it switches often. And that's not a challenge. That's normal.
-
Not really, some teams have a designated cannon and bomb thrower regardless whether they are empowered or not. So yeah it seems normal to some people and not to others.
-
I always always always commandeer those teams and tell them the best way to do it: Empowered Throw. One person in each side is designated switcher. Switch BEFORE killing captains. This is the most efficient way with the least amount of chatter over what needs to happen and who goes where.
-
Your method is also the riskiest way for players, as captains often kill the person going after it if its only one and they dont have a sword
-
You never kill the captain by yourself. You kill it once the person has switched. Not any more or less risky.
-
So your logic is to have the captain roaming and shooting at you and your team, and do nothing? The game is much simpler for my teams with a designated cannon/thrower, and switching cannon if both empowered. Kikl captain, take cannon go kill servitors/other captains
-
The captain doesn't "roam". Don't engage him until you have a partner. How hard is it to hold back. Plus, the second you get empowered, more adds spawn. Kill them while you wait. You're being purposely obtuse.
-
Ive never seen him roam much, because I always nova bomb him before he can take 3 steps out the doorway. However, I look to mid after killing my captain and that captain has definitely roamed, all the way up the stairs (if I take long enough)
-
And hey man, it's fine if you don't want to do it my way. I'll give any way 3 tries. If we don't get it after three tries and you don't switch to my way, I'm out.
-
ONLY if you engage him. If you change after killing the servators start spawning. My method is superior.
-
Empowered always throwing is too much hassle for a raid as simple as this. I always go with having set cannon/throwing people
-
On the contrary, it's simpler. This ensures there is an empowered person at each location for the final throw. It takes the guesswork out of who switches and ensures there won't be a side where there's a double cannon team or double throw team. Your way has more questions and more chatter on the mic.
