Reminiscing about the old days with HALO 2!
Evening all,
I'm currently sitting in a lobby on Destiny searching for a RIFT game to run, but 'am reliving my old 'glory days' on HALO 2! I will concede that upon launch it was absolutely PLAGUED with cheaters (standby, glitches, exploiting, modders, hackers galore, etc.) but still, I had some of the most fun in an online competitive multiplayer game that I've ever had. Playing with 'literally' a clan full of 100 people or so, tons of my RL friends, custom games for HOURS, it was just SO much fun; there was always something/some game type to play! Remember BTB (Big Team Battle)?!... how much fun was that, rolling with your friends (objective games) on those huge maps? Playing 'till the wee small hours of the morning. I played MLG with a select group of my peers and earned a legit 46 full moon rank TS (Team Slayer), despite the ridiculous plethora of cheaters. They're just games, but I'm still "proud" you could say, about achieving that, and Gladiator rank in WoW; I'm a competitive person by nature, which is why I imagine.
For me "personally" the top online multiplayer games I've ever played would have to be: Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow, HALO 2, HALO 3, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (and YES, CoD is straight "ez-mode" but still, it was fun running "Team Tactical" with buddies), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (INSANELY ez-mode PvP), Call of Duty: Black Ops (remember '[url=http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law]-godwinslaw!-[/url] Zombies'?!), and World of Warcraft (yes, totally geeked out, but my fav.)
Anywho, wanted to share some of my favorite games, and experiences with you all as the collective gaming community. Ultimately, I realize it wasn't so much the games per se, as it was the "family" of peeps that I played, enjoyed and ran with!... So much fun, great memories and s&#! tons of laughs!
Please feel free to share your favorite games, HALO 2 memoirs and flashbacks, as I very much would like to hear them.

P.S. I haven't played WoW in several years, considering getting sucked back in, but also wanted to inquire about "Overwatch." Has anyone checked it out, and how does it play?

I spent countless hours in Super Bouncing lobbies and learning to butterfly and rocket cancel to new places outside the maps... I remember finding the stairway to heaven on burial mounds or jumping to the top tower on Ascension. Or the times when I joined modded lobbies and you can shoot tank bullets through a plasma pistol or shoot a TRAIN through the BR I remember the original Zombies :( Rip halo 2

^ Video quality isn't too great lol, but remember "Walshy" from Final Boss MLG? Purwty decent gamer; although there were/are better. Thanks for sharing guys, really great stuff! Yeah, those co-op and custom games were fantastic; HOURS of fun all night! Although I'm playing on PS3 (my GF's), I am definitely an Xbox man myself. I honestly think that the Xbox Live community and template is far superior to that of PSN (once again, in my humble opinion). I absolutely loved partnering up with my RL friends after College classes were done, and running some BTB, etc. I'll have to check out Overwatch as well; any suggestions on characters to run and why/what is their respective archetype? -Cheers all

i remember 1v1ing my dad on 2 (and 3 when it came out) as, like, a 10 year old every night until mom got back from work then firefight with ODST. gooooood times

1 ReplyMy brothers and I never got Xbox Live for Halo 2 so my favorite memories would be playing the Campaigns solo and co-op and playing in "custom games" with my brothers.
