What pisses me off is how the best weapons in the game are only available to those who are already amazing. This means they can just further pubstomp anyone not 'good enough' for trials.

  • There's nothing in the ToO weapons pool that I would chose over most of my RNG weapons, honestly. They don't hit harder, they don't shoot faster, they don't aim easier, even with the snapshot build-in. They have 2 things going for them; they look different, and they have a set roll, so you always know what you're getting. Whereas that's kind of nice, in every case you could get a better roll on a weapon of the same archetype. I don't know why anyone thinks the Trials guns are outstanding, probably spillover from the Doctrine of Passing fiasco.

  • I'm thinking of a few weapons in particular that feel even better than their stats. Those are the fusion (I have no idea why it is as consistent as it is), the sniper (consistent feel of its archetype, but has bonus damage from barrel mods while still only having the zoom factor of the low zoom scopes), and the blind perdition (because God roll plus high cal rounds).

  • I hear you, they're good. But you can firstly, get as good as or better rolls on other weapons in the same archetype, some of which feel better to certain users (like how I like But Not Forgotten, specifically because it has lower AA). The gun itself isn't terribly my concern, I can adapt to any weapon and it's intrinsic feel. And secondly, just get 2 friends and slog trials for a little bit to finish bounties, which award a 95% identical weapon to any adept version. Very few wins required, and you can knock the entire list out in under an hour, even if your team is terrible (and I'm not saying they are / would be). these guns aren't even close to out of reach, they just require a different kind of grind than PVE drops. Adept literally means nothing, unless snapshot is a make or break perk for any gun. I prefer quick draw or the blade dancer fast draw ability anyways, so it's really not a big deal. The number of complete scrubs with 0.5 k/d's that I see in Crucible with these guns proves that anyone can get them, if they care to.

  • Fair enough. I just have difficulty convincing my lower skill friends to play even with the rewards, and my upper tier friends are usually already doing it by the time I get on, so it may just be a personal problem.

  • The only real good gun from ToO batch is the pulse which you can get an exact archetype of in iron banner or even the party favor from shax.

  • None of the trials weapons are that unique in terms of effectiveness. The pulse is the standout and hawksaw, clever d, and grasp all are equivilent.

  • Slight tweek, Hawksaw is of a different archetype. It is just as competitive, but it does have different firing pattern and TTK. Agree that it's definitely comparable in effectiveness, but I don't want anyone to take away from that that the Hawksaw is of the same archetype. Sorry if that sounds pretentious, it's not meant to.

  • If you're referring to the adept trials weapons, I can assure you that they are not a must use for every PVP game. The only added benefit of the year 3 adept trials weapons is the built in snapshot, and it doesn't seem all that great imo. There's a lot of great weapons already in the game that don't require you to be a PVP legend
