Today I joined an LFG group saying "Aksis phase 2, have all monitors." We were all randoms to each other but all above 380 and we took Aksis down after only a couple wipes bc of silly mistakes. We collect our loot and jump down and the lasers are all still up just as I notice the guy who put us together left the fire team!
Wasn't too mad since it was mine and another guys first completion. Still disappointed I didn't get the OP quest.
Anyone else run into this sort of dickery trickery?

The dude that has the monitors, ask him if he has gone to orbit for any reason since he got the 1st monitor. If he has then he won't get the quest. If he never went to orbit and has all the monitors, if you join his fireteam that is in the raid, you will get the quest with him at the end. That's how it works folks.
-
I've seen it for people trying to get the 3 raid bosses down
-
This is why I don't LFG, and don't Raid.
-
Yup. Unless I run from fresh, and see someone getting monitors, I never believe LFG.
-
Yeah it's a great way to get people to join unless you wanna be honest and wait for 45 mins for someone to join.
-
-
Haven't done the raid but from what I've read it doesn't work that way. You have to start from the beginning and do the monitors or it doesn't count.
-
Or you all could learn binary and monitor locations? It's not hard at all 1.) after vosik, front left safe room through hole in ceiling 2.) near 4 red pillars exotic chest, after jumping up to catwalk that leads to chest, jump up to the "third" floor and climb the pipes above the room entrance 3.)upon completion of the siege engine theres a block of concrete on the right rail of the wall look for crumpled wall with SIVA growing out 4.) binary puzzle 5.) after boss Binary- it works in decimals with math, simple. 0000 = 0 0001 = 1 0010= 2 cause 10s place is the second from the right 0011 = 3 cause 2+1 0100= 4 0101= 5 cause 4+1

I guess so. I don't need monitors since the weapon is on my kiosk now but I will recommend only do fresh runs only.
-
Yes and it's despicable
-
Just activate them yourself next fresh run. Only takes an extra five minutes total.
-
Just so everyone knows, the person or people who activate the monitors have to say through the entire raid. So that is why I recommend one person to grab them all.
-
That's kind of a dick move
-
I guess its better not to take the word of randoms, and just run your own group, and do the work to get the monitors... It does suck that players resort to tricking you, but it comes with the territory when you are trying to take short cuts... Bungie just needs to fix it to where this cheese isn't possible, problem solved...

Stupid kids, will do anything now.

Edited by Priddy boy: 10/23/2016 4:09:49 PMYeah lol posted on lfg "383 warlock, fresh run looking to do monitors, know what you're doing" Join the group. First thing I notice was that the highest lvl other guy was 372 lowest 365.. So I go you guys have all done this before right? .. Everyone said yes, then I go and we're doing monitors? And everyone said yes.. So I join up.. 2 of em clearly never did the raid but they were doing ok so w/e.. Then i got the first monitor and everyone went super far a head of me.. So ok? Then I grabbed the other 2 by my self again as they ran a head .. So ok? Than we come to the puzzle one and everyone goes nah let's not do this one its such a pain in the ass and skips it ... I'm just like WTF!

Ya it happened to me too. People are jack asses man ..,,
-
Combination of douchebags that want to get it done, by any means, and idiots that pass the lead to a new team member or go to orbit like it doesn't reset them.
-
I have not ran into it primarily because I only do fresh runs and ask if anyone needs monitors. It's a rather douchey gimic I will give you that.
-
Yep. My third run, I believe, someone said they had all monitors. I had OP by then, so I didn't care, but everyone else didn't have it. Long story short, he got reported by five people.
The spookiest (and luckiest) seven you will ever meet
