That way, the person who made that tweet and Luke Smith can stop alienating a large part of their customer base. Also, the pvp lead should probably avoid posting things like that given how bad they are at their job.

Once my sniper skills were down, all I'd have to do is sit at the back of the map and pick people off, or or I could rush them with a Titan / melee combo the same as everyone else? Failing that I've heard that if I plug a cronusmax plus in I can dl a script to give me an unfair advantage. Man this ToO is so so balanced and fair atm, you know expert streamers knocking themselves off whilst they destroy AVERAGE players who don't do this for a living. Once I've achieved this I can probably don my Scarab emblem and ask for stupid pathetic requirements on lfg, with all the other special fktards. Sign me up, I can't fkin wait!

I grew up in gaming by playing science-fiction fantasy an RPG games. The first game I ever beat was Metroid II, in the game that got me totally hooked was final fantasy seven. Since then, it's been elder scrolls, fallout, and mass effect. The error that I found PVP enjoyable was the days of doing lan parties or split screen with your friends. In general, I find that online PVP is incredibly toxic, stressful, and not a very good way to relax. I have always disagreed with bungie's philosophy on making PVP end game experiences because I feel like it interferes with the games potential for deep and complicated character builds and takes resources away from making the game world larger and the story more immersive. I originally signed onto Destiny hoping for a rich and complicated world. While we get that from the group more cards, I feel like much of the potential that is not met is because there is such a large PVP presence. All that being said, I still think that destiny is a great game, and I'm not gonna change the fact that PVP is such a large part of what bungie creates. I respect their honesty about their design philosophy, even if I don't like it.

I would have no problem with that statement if Bungie 1. provided good servers 2. provided CBMM 3. would actually do something about cheaters You can't lock content behind a "skill wall" if getting there has less to do with skill and more with having the luck of getting a match where everyone has good connection... Or at least having the lagger on your team.

3 RepliesI don't know why they don't just implement a ranking system like halo had that shows what rank you are. Only way to advance in rank is winning, you drop rank by losing. Then match fireteams based on rank. They can even make it match by who has the highest rank on the team. That way a carry can still happen, but a team of three low ranked players would never go up against a team of high ranked players.

1 ReplyI'm pretty sure this is the most direct and honest answer I've seen from a Bungie employee. I found their intentions for ToO were pretty obvious, if they wanted the average player to make it to the lighthouse they would have chosen a game mode like Skirmish not Elimination. Bounties are for the average player, lighthouse is for the best of the best, and people who pay or cheat lol. Sorry, sad but true.

4 RepliesBack in year one I always had buddies to do trials. Then they left. Now I can't find a good team because I lost my chemistry with my other buddies. It's not fun anymore for me....... anyone have some people that are good and could let me in? I'm no squeaker.

1 ReplyAgreed. I used to suck at Trials, with a .9 Trials K/D, to now a 1.12, and been flawless couple times with an ELO of 1500+ now. It takes time and determination, but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze. Y'all can even inspect my games from last night, it was a sweat fest, but yet we prevailed and went flawless. Trials definitely isn't for the average player. My advice? Practice and learn from your mistakes. Know when to back off, and when to challenge. And know your map. And remember: Communication is KEY.

I suck at pvp and I completely agree with this. You don't pay for games to get in game items you buy them for engaging challenges. You don't ask Bungie for free raid drops and you don't ask for free flawless cards.

I agree. Why wouldn't you agree. It was designed as an elite PvP mode with unique rewards. And that's why you will sooner or later encounter very good teams/players. You wanna reach the lighthouse? Invest the time to "get good", practice, and master your class and your prefered guns, and lear to play as small team and how communicating works.... ...or get destroyed! That's life. The better ones in a competition will beat you. If your light is weak, Osiris will not honor you. It's a trial you have to overcome. A trial of patience and concentrating on what's important in battle. The Trials of Osiris. Bye.

I don't know if it was because the hard mode raid was out this week or I was just unlucky, but this week was extremely sweaty. I was routinely getting matched up at the beginning of cards with 2000+ ELO players. It was a struggle to even get 5 wins. I'm not a great player, but I'm certainly above average. There were probably alot of really "good" or even "great" players that didn't make the lighthouse this week, at least if they had my luck in matchups. Which leads me to believe it's not working as intended.

If that is the case (and I am fine with that) then they need to ahut down the pay to win that is trials carries. How many people are getting carried by people to get to the lighthouse every week? I don't care if it is 1, 100, or 1000. If they ttuly meant this mode to be the prestigious mode, the mode where inly the best reach the lighthouse, then getting carried there kind of goes against the idea. I went once in year one, I am an average player at best, that happened to have an above average day lol, combined with probably getting matched against the right match ups. I don't complain about the difficulty, I want it to be difficult. I usually don't get more than 5 wins on a card, sometimes 6, but I work for them. Bunhie says it isn't intended that the average pmater goes, then they should fix it so they can't.

1 ReplyThe primary problem with trials is people playing it all the time. It should lock players out after going to the lighthouse till the next week. The fact that in the past it offered the best guns and armor in the game, it made players cheat/exploit the system. The majority of players who play trials all the time get owned when they play the crucible, so don't think they're good.

I would agree... If 6 of the 8 Trials matches I played last night hadn't been crippled by lag... so I do not agree The same thing goes for raiding, (but at least you can kick those redbars)

2 RepliesEverytime you get up to 5 wins it Starts. From now your enemy team will be either 2 streamers who carry or a stacked team of 2000 elo Players. And the stacked team isnt the Problem here. He says only the very best should go to the lighthouse? I saw people with the lighthouse emblem playing so damn Bad i can not describe how Bad they are. And they are the very best? No..... They won a raffle or pay money....... The matchmaking fails here so hard.
