Yes in a way

Who's the pvp lead? And why does his opinion matter again?
-
going to the light house is supposed to be an achievement. That said its not supposed to be impossible. Its the PvP players version of the raid it should be competitive. Competitive is not one sided. That said in my opinion there should be skilled base matchmaking based on the combined average of the players in the team just like any other "real" competitive game. There should also be bracketing like there is now so you are playing against other teams with the same amount of wins and similar skill. That makes it competitive. The current system is flawed in my opinion. if your KD is 1.25 you shouldn't be playing a team with a KD of 3.5 in the first round. A team of 1.25 kd players vers a team of 3.5 kd players is not competitive that's a one sided pos of a game. That's like having a high school team play a pro football team. Nothing competitive about it and if the pro team thinks that's competitive than the're pathetic. If one team quits at the end that shouldn't count as a loss for the team that didn't quit regardless of the end results of the match. If a team repeatedly quits against teams they are playing they should be banned from trials for 24 hours.

Agreed

I'd like to see a system where once a Guardian has gone flawless, that Guardian is ineligible for Trials for the rest of the week. But, by going flawless, the Guardian is now eligible for the weekly Champions Tier, where flawless battle flawless for bragging rights and uniquely badass shaders, emblems, ornaments and ships.
-
I love how pissed people are. It's flawless, if ur only OK in PVP u shouldn't expect to go flawless and get to the lighthouse. It's admittedly frustrating because I would love to get there just once. So what I do occasionally is find good players and have them help me. Still haven't been, but not butt-hurt about not getting there as I'm a filthy casual
-
How to fix Trials; Give players TWO routes to get to the Lighthouse - 1st Option: 9 Straight Wins (Flawless) 2nd Option: 50 Match Wins (Not Consecutive) This will make it so average players can still make it to the lighthouse but have to work LONGER to achieve it. Fudge it, make it 100 Match Wins (Not Consecutive), at least there will be an option for average players to take and reach the light house. It's a simple fix that would make many players in the community happy. No one has creativity anymore!!!
-
I don't think Trials needs to be fixed. I do think that the reporting system does though. Whenever I report people who are lagging around the map, nothing happens to them. And even if something does happen to them, it'll be after the match is already done. Overall, Trials is fine the way it is. But Bungie should start monitoring players with bad connection in PvP more carefully.
-
Are we sure he works for Bunigie? That response to the community is way too concise and to the point.
-
That's absolutely hilarious, considering that usually only the most cancerous of players reach the Lighthouse, not the most skilled.
-
Trials of Osiris is not the problem. The problem lies in Bungie's implementation of a "matchmaking" system. Every competitive multiplayer game has had a rating system to determine "skill". Players are matched based on these credentials and play relatively even games against peers. Instead, bungie's matchmaking is the equivalent of a pick up football game, where an assortment of names are thrown into a hat, and drawn at random. There is no real skill based matchmaking at all, if anything this is tier based, matching wins, and that is even sketchy, as the wins barely match as well.

Guardian,Archon Of Light
Blade Of The Traveler - old
He is right But I am guessing Activision cringed when they saw that, the same company that said "There is a soldier in all of us". That's has bad of a PR nightmare has Luke Smith's infamous "Throw Money At The Screen" interview -
He took a stand. I like that
-
I'm the most average player out there. Literally 1.0 kd. I go to the lighthouse multiple times each weekend. Know the teammates and know your strengths.
-
I'm average and made it to the lighthouse more than a handful of times. Jokes of you Derek -blam!-ing douche!!
-
Edited by ThirteenJesters: 10/23/2016 8:28:48 PMWho Bungie thinks wins Trials - good players Who actually wins trials - good players - average players that luck out through matchmaking - atrocious players that pay to go flawless - horrible players that win raffles to go flawless - red bar warriors - cheaters I'm perfectly fine with Bungie saying only good players should go flawless, that's not how it actually works though.
-
I'm just going to say this. I play with streamers and "carriers" but it's not because I'm bad, it's because I don't have any friends who are good enough to do trials with. I would consider myself a average-above average player I go positive in trials most of the time
-
I dunno but that Drew_H_One guy is retarded.

Edited by drvankmen: 10/24/2016 6:29:35 PMI love the notion that only through hard work and victory will you succeed in this game mode. Love it. What i don't like. How non-competitive pvp has always been in this game. There should NEVER be supers or one button nukes in a competitive game mode. Never. I would have the same apply to ammo, but i could see the argument in either direction. Map design. LOTS needs to change here. Game mode and objective, same. Matchmaking. Touchy topic sure, but in my view ONLY connection should be considered when matching teams, here is why. In a true competitive environment Instead of offering equality of outcome, we are offering equality of opportunity. goes along with the intentions of the game mode. you will compete against the destiny community, on equal footing, and only then can you earn your way to the lighthouse.
-
I agree, an average player should practice to go there. Period.
-
I agree with him, and furthermore think a mod should find that guy's account and mete out justice. And I never have gone to the lighthouse, and likely never will.
-
Edited by Truthiness_Inc: 10/24/2016 5:06:06 PMI agree with him...I'm an average player and never been to the lighthouse either. I could make excuses for this but what's the point? Would you believe or care? But I DO have trials gear, because they let the average players get it through bounties. If you want to go to the lighthouse and can't make it with the friends you have or because you just in general aren't good enough there is no debate. You just aren't good enough. Having a lack in skill isn't the game mode's issue it's your issue.
-
Seems legit. I'm by no means mlg and I've made it there by good chemistry with friends
-
That guy's a turd. The worst one yet is the head of weapon balancing. Seems like that dipshit has never even played the game.
-
I 100% agree with him. Getting to the lighthouse is supposed to be an achievement, not something you can quickly do every weekend with your mates over a few pints. Trials was always advertised for the best of the best not above average.
