Im in New Zealand and if I play with someone in the USA chances are they will see me with a red bar at some point during a match. From my end however i have full connection and they have the red bar. One problem is skill based matchmaking which came about because salty players did not want to play against the best players in crucible. Which is stupid because the only way to get better is to play regularly against better players.

  • I have said it before but I would much rather be matchmade based on geography/connection than skill. And I say this as a mediocre player who gets his ass handed to him on a regular basis. Basically, though, if I'm going to get beaten a lot in a game I'd rather it was because of my lack of skill rather than because someone (whether me or someone else) in the match didn't have the best connection possible. Prioritise connection. My skill is my problem and something I at least theoretically have control over. I can make myself a better gamer though practice. No amount of practice, however, can make a shot connect if the moment I press the trigger my target suddenly jump-cuts three foot to the left.

  • Your salty comment is ignorant. Not everyone is good or amazing and having those players go against the best in the world doesn't make that person better. It never will. It just makes them stop playing. Match making is required.

  • I wasnt being salty...Its a fact that playing a game with people that are better than you will make you better. You are obviously one of those salty players i was referring to that wants everything to be easy.

  • There is a difference between competing against a person who is a little better and learning from your defeat and getting blown out by an mlg streamer. I don't learn anything when I am dead before I know what hit me. Noone does. So instead of striking an elitist attitude why don't you temper that and use your head a little before you speak or post.

  • I stand by my comment. If you look at my stats for crucible i am clearly no elitest. I would rather play with players above my skill level in an almost lag free environment than have to be put in games with people in my own skill range but have to contend with lag.

Carful, you are using you're head here. This might stick around and become rational thought. User discretion is advised.

  • Haha. Why cant we choose our prefered region to matchmake in? Im happy to play against anyone in the crucible but out of fairness I should be playing against others in New Zealand and Australia. Somebody in europe shouldnt have to have a bad experience in pvp just because i have been matchmade into their game.

  • That is something that has always puzzled me as well. IDK how many games I played that not only let me set preferred lanquage, but also preferred region. Even something as broad as NA, EU, JPN could benefit us.
