Halo 5 has had little competition in terms of new games that have been released on xbox one (safe for a few). But despite this halo 5's population is continuing to drop, never managing to break top 10.
Winter 2016 and early 2017 will release a ton of new and extremely anticipated games that will defiantly overtake halo 5 on their first few days of release (battlefield 1, titanfall 2, cod infinite war with cod 4, mass effect andromeda etc). But will halo 5 come back from this? Will halo 5 survive this winter?

Depends on the next update and what they add really. But I doubt even if the update is amazing it'll do to well.
-
Stop it. Halo 3 and blacks ops are still being played.
-
I'll always come back to the halo games. No other shooter can hold my attention for very long. Doom came and went the same will be true for gears and whatever other shooters I buy
-
I stopped playing halo after 3
-
Probably not, I know I'm buying Battlefield 1 come November.
-
Don't worry bro. 343 is going to do just fine with halo. There are giving us halo wars 2, instead of a proper halo 3 anniversary. That'll save halo.
-
Players will drop off as the new games come out. I'm sure once the novelty of those games wears off, the more dedicated players will go back.

Edited by Onxide: 9/28/2016 7:58:23 PMIt's been going strong for nearly a whole year now, and there's going to be more updates in the near future. I don't see why it wouldn't.

Lmao that game died one week after release. .....
-
A little bit offtopic, but how do I change my search preferences to expanded? I am living in Germany and if I want to play outside of peak hours, like 1-2 A.M., I just can't find any games!
-
Meh, I don't think it will have much of an impact. COD IW will take away from Blops3, BF1 will take away from BF4, TF2 should take away also, from COD fans. People who like Halo will generally still play because these new releases aren't like Halo at all. I'm not getting a single new game until Halo Wars 2 because none of these new ones interest me
-
Maybe for a couple of weeks, but when the new wears off the core players will return.
-
I don't know from all the data mined stuff it looks like there still might be some cool stuff in store

Prople have been playing halo 5 for quite a while. The longevity of the game is pretty good and they only thing you can say harms its longevity is how fast points are gained. But nerfing that will only create problems. Its hard to play halo 24/7 when you have witcher 3/dark souls/ mgs5/ ark/ ed/ bf4/doom all out around or after halo 5 came out. What did you expect? Some of those games are actually meant to be long term. I havent played halo in months but even so id say it was one of my most played games in this console generation. Halo 5 was never meant to last as long as it did/has but they have done a good job of it
-
Probably
-
The crackdown 3 will smash halo5 even though they are not even the same type of game
-
What's a halo?

-
It's dying and I'm starting to be in games where the enemies just rush hard and make warzone very competitive. Like I go there to have some fun and try out reqs but I get enemies going to the first base your team captures and ruining the match
-
Depends. Not many of those games play like halo.
-
Unless 343 gave the best update ever, I doubt it.
-
Most likely, but I believe the population will be only 2/3 of its current playerbase. The only other AAA new release I plan on purchasing this year is Battlefield 1, and right now I'm currently binging out on Warframe.
