You can bypass all issues by using "internet sharing" on a computer, at least I know for sure it works on Mac. See below for a tutorial for Mac, please Google alternative guide for Internet sharing on Windows.
1. Connect your Mac device to router's wifi
2. Connect xbox/ps to Mac via Ethernet cable
3. On Mac, go to: System Preferences > Sharing
4. Under "To computers using:" - check the box for Ethernet/Thunderbolt ethernet
5. Lastly, in the left hand column, check box for "Internet Sharing" and click yes or whatever to confirm.
6. Ultimately, restart Xbox and you're good to go.
This method uses your computer's wifi connection to connect to xbox live/Destiny. You can still have one xbox connected to wifi as normal. All others must use this method, using separate computers.
Hope this helps all!!

I ended up switching out my Tmobile hotspot AC-1900 router with another ASUS AC66 router w/ Merlin Custom Firmware and that seemed to have solved the problem for me. Unfotuntately, the router occasionally dies and knocks everyone off the network, not sure if that's the router or 3-players playing Destiny at the same time. Gives me Marlonberry sometimes too :(
