Halo 3 turns 9 years old today.
This actually makes me feel old lol. Such a legendary game with so many great memories connected to it. I remember me and my friends would go to each other's places after school and have the time of our lives just by screwing around in Forge lmao. I know, unfortunately, the community may seem... broken. I feel that perhaps we should set aside our differences, to share and honor the memories of this game we all (most of us at least haha) grew up with and loved. Not to let nostalgia blind us, but to come together to cherish these unforgettable memories of the good ole days. Feel free to share your stories, and let us remember what made this franchise so legendary. Perhaps through this, we can repair the community, and restore it back to its former glory.

While Halo 3 ranks around the middle of my Halo list, it is by far the most nostalgic. From my two massive GameStop posters (ask if you want pics) to a few t-shirts I got as a birthday gift in 2007 that still fit me today, Halo 3 merch holds a special place in my heart.

3 RepliesEasily the best halo. It was overall, an absolute 10/10 masterpiece. It's soundtrack, multiplayer, campaign, the introduction of forge, and the awesome Community's grifball, there was so many things that truly made Halo 3 the legend that it is today. I don't think Bungie will ever make a better game, and it's even more unlikely 343 will never make a better Halo.

wow! 9 years already ??? I was in the middle of changing rooms since my brother moved out and I had my tv and xbox and a chair in my old room just to play the campaign lol. So many system link memories and arguments over this game back in the day ! 9 years is crazy to think

Most amazing game I've ever played, with such an awesome, creative, and fun community . Spent a lot of late nights playing various custom game types, but most of all infection. Halo 3 was something special. and near the end of it's run... [spoiler]I finally got teh reconz :')[/spoiler]

Met my best friend in school ( and still is ) because of halo 3, we loved to 1v1 in Valhalla with snipers. He was waay better so i just picked up the banshee and kill him, or do the coop campaign in leyendary... man those night with pizza and coke... unforgetable nights those. And as you said we also loved to forge maps on valhalla, like covenant vs marines bases and man that was fun

In my opinion halo 3 is over hyped. It's a solid game but after going back to it it feels old and hollow for me. Surprisingly I had more hours played for reach than halo 3. Though to this day halo CE will always be my favorite. I love 5 for it's warzone implications and the campaign. arena is meh. I think it's the best of the standard halo modes we've ever gotten for sure. I'm just not really into competitive pvp these days. I mainly do destiny pvp because it's got rpg elements to it. Pretty much any pvp I see myself playing these days is far flung from an arena shooter. Doom is the only one that's close. but it's much more fast paced and is frankly far more crazy with how it plays.
