Between 350 and 365 exotic Engrams seem to follow the legendary engram trend of having a 50% chance or higher to decrypt at your current overall light level instead of at 1 light above it.
Once I hit 365 every exotic engram decrypted unto an upgrade at least one light over my current overall light level. The most I saw was 3 Light over.
Ironically while in the 350-364 overall light level hell any legendary that decrypted from a rare or exotic from a Legendary was behaved like the 365+ In that it was a guarenteed upgrade and at up to 3 over my current overall ligjt

I am 365 light and I got a exotic at 368 works fine for me

That's how it is supposed to work once you hit 356.

That turned out to be my results and others in my clan have been having the same results, so it's probably just a mix up in the coding between purple and gold engrams. At least we know and hopefully others will catch the thread. Cheers guardian!
