I'm doing this quest now, hope it doesn't happen to me. Sucks that happened to you. Bump for bungie notice.

I collected my iron ghorn on my hunter but completed the quest on my warlock, I moved the iron ghorn to my warlock using the app and its gone.... I cant complete the quest as it says I need the year 3 ghorn. How do we contact Bungie about these issues?

That sucks, I'm not sure how you contact bungie about this. Someone has to know though.
