It's a pretty bad thing in a shooter game when a player is unable to nurture its skills due to too frequent game mechanics changes made by a game developer. Do not shoot yourself in a foot by doing things that reduce your customers base and do not hope your marketing team will cover your losses by winning the hearts of new gamers with another red bull or a similarly stupid campaign.
