We create one. We, the community, discover which guns work well(in our opinion) and we use them. Exclusively. The problem is that we then refuse to branch out and try new things because we've become comfortable with what we consider the "best" options.
You want a change in the meta? Explore your options. Try new things out. I've recently been experimenting with Lord of Wolves, and I've found that it's a great gun, just as an example.

Meta this meta that ewwww
-
I personally use whatever I want. The only guns I don't use are hand cannons, cause phucc hand cannons. I really hate iron sights, lol. I use side arms, but phucc those too, lol. Give me the pistol from Halo CE or nothing at all when it comes to those weapon types, lol. I'd take the D44 (?) from Goldeneye also.
-
There is always a meta regardless if people find it or not. You don't create the meta, you discover the meta.
-
I try NLB + Party Crasher (No rangefinder) and do pretty good.
-
So...what is the meta? I find most things pretty effective right now. Pretty much any weapon type with a good roll seems to work...
-
I even gotten phantom with NLB/Sidearm without reload glitch! Trust me guys it's a awesome set up with the hunter Bladedancer
-
Bungie creates the meta by accident. The players discover it..Bungie says hell no can't have that...nerf..
-
You're wrong. Bungie creates a "meta" to create interest in the game. The meta in Destiny is "make what was good awful."
-
Perhaps, I just think bungie wants you to use every weapon at some point.
-
You're wrong. Bungie just don't know what balance is. They've even said that they want seasonal metas which is completely counter-productive in creating a balance. Plus don't tell people to use something that's not the best you know it doesn't work that way.

Edited by RichGhost77: 8/31/2016 11:35:00 PMThere will always be a meta.....not saying its a bad thing, I'm just saying there will always be one.
-
I've been using the red specter with a sniper pretty good loadout for me since I prefer a long distance engagement but at the same time need a primary that can hold its own close to medium range
-
Because everyone looks for the cheapest way is why metas come to be.
-
Just started to use a fusion rifle. And last Ion banner I used a handcannon for all my matches. I will probably pick up a dude arm before Rise of Iron drops
-
Edited by Spicy Boi: 8/31/2016 6:00:09 PMAnd also because Bungie said they wanted a rotation of meta's so that every weapon type had its time to shine. You're not wrong, but they're not totally innocent in creating meta's either.
-
I started using the side arm queens choice and it is actually awesome. Paired with righteous IIV auto rifle with feeding frenzy. Been trying to use plan c but I can't one shot people? Idk maybe I just suck with fusions
-
Exactly! Also if you look at ttk spreadsheets there's not a huge difference in a majority of the primary options.

Edited by BlackDragonX07: 8/31/2016 10:26:57 AMWell my fellow Guardian that is because some of us like to win crucible matches or at least kill more than we die. Now while I occasionally bust out a non-meta weapon for various reasons but it would be foolish to find a good gun only to put myself at disadvantage by not using it yo.
-
This community doesn't think or experiment..Every sandbox update, they run to a streamer and copy their entire loadouts. If krafty said " go farm for kings fall fusion rifle because its the best" every wannabe competitive player would be on lfg looking to raid.
-
No, Bungie creates the metas. We just discover them. No matter how much Bungie buffs and nerfs, some guns will always be better than others. Metas are inevitable regardless of what game one plays. A game could be perfectly balanced, but some weapons will still be better than others.
-
I agree. I try to branch out more often now. I have a few guns with good rolls and I vary between them. This is where the Shaks Bounties and the crucible quarter master bounties are great. You have to try different hubs and different matches to finish. Except for when you have to play elimination. Trials is often running when I get free to play. I really don't feel like using an lfg site for one win lol. Good job on the crucible bounties Bungie. It makes for better play.
-
So, by your explanation, we find the best guns... then you tell us that we shouldn't use them? Hey guys! Don't use good weapons! We should all just use the Gunsmith Test Weapons! It'll be fun, they said.
-
Buff Auto's. Meta, wrecked.
-
Fusion rifles need a buff in my opinion, slow rof autos need a buff. That's all I think needs tinkered with. I use loads of different weapons in pvp, currently this "meta" is the most varied I've seen.
-
Hawksaw will always be meta. All hail hawksaw.

Edited by DehCanadianJedi: 8/31/2016 7:05:10 AMBeen using a locke_arete/paleocontact/Jigoku SR3-SL with murmur and a god rolled nox cantor III, been having waaay too much fun with it. Even though the locke has really bad range, it has freaking crispy hit registration. Paleo shreds like a legendary monte. (Dead orbit vendor roll. Grab it while you can.) The Jigoku has crowd control and decent stability as well as hitting like a truck. It's becoming my go-to scout now. Been having fun with these relatively rare and unused guns is the best feeling, especially when you get top overall using murmur and an uncommon scout.
