DestinyLfg.com is your matchmaking. If you moan the website is crap and you get ppl who leave or kick you half way through. Matchmaking won't be any different. At least with destinylfg.com you know what light lvl ppl your gonna get or if they've done the raid and have the right weapons.
Matchmaking is a stupid idea for lazy ppl hoping to be carried. There is no reason not to use destinylfg.com
So with matchmakimg what happens when your half way through the raid and someone leaves! Will it leave you with 5 for the rest or will it try matchmake someone. Who will just leave straight away after finding your half way through the raid! It just won't work

You are correct in saying that at least you'll have an idea of who is joining. But your argument against matchmaking can also be said for for LFG. What if they leave? For LFG, that's an easy one. Find another player. You do bring up a valid point with MM, though. Would it attempt to fill the slot mid-raid? I don't see why not. There are checkpoints along the raid. So I could only hope it would attempt to pull players who are at the same checkpoint.

The problem I find with the matchmaking and someone leaving and it trying to find someone on the same cp as you is, your on the first boss some one leaves. It finds someone on the same cp. Who obviously struggle to beat it before! Brings no help to ur team. Who may have rage quit another team and likely to do so again. At least with lfg your putting the effort into finding a team and getting the right subclasses weapons experience if needed ect. So your more likely to stay through the ups and downs. I find you have more of a bond with these ppl then if you match made with them. Also alot of the ppl I've found on lfg I still raid with and like to think I've become friends with. That hasn't happened with any matchmaking game modes. Ppl don't friend request you if you beast a Strike ect!

I kinda guessed that and deleted my first post calling you a retard for clicking the link but thought destiny has to many Cl_lNTS I won't be a dick and change it to help other ppl who haven't heard of the website
