3 RepliesMy biggest issue with sbmm is that I'm constantly joining games in progress. I barely ever encounter lag (rumble). Games are super sweaty, like god damn sweaty. One word names, Matadors, eyaslunas, last word, thorn, her benevolence, death singers gaze. I like it sometimes but other times I just want to play noobs.

1 ReplyI agree. Since they aren't developing for old consoles they need to overhaul crucible. If not overhaul seriously look into fixing the net code for it so it runs smoother and also do away with SBMM. Another thing is that I don't think the player pool is big enough for casual Crucible players. I'm average but I'm usually going against like you said "potatoes" or very highly skilled players there's just not a good mix of middle of the road players to have fun in Crucible most of the time.

It can be absurd. Trying to switch up the time of day/night you play sometimes helps. I played on several crucible game types for 5 hours the other night and played against the same ppl over and over and over again.

Yeah straight rage inducing. The problem is that one night you will win most games, then the next night it's damn impossible to win and makes you rage. If they want sbmm, at least make it always have somewhat even teams. I'm not good enough to carry 5 guys to a victory on rift or control when they have no idea what they are doing and die 20 times a piece. That's also why cbmm is better, you may get pooped on, but at least it is supposed to be random. With this sbmm it's supposed to be even, yet it still seems random

I hate at the end of a match, Shaxx saids, "This was one sided". You're the one makin the teams. Next time, try making the teams more even, with no LAGGGGGGGG! I swear my kd would be higher if they fixed this crap.

The people that want to play for some sort of pride and bragging rights on a stat (k/d should really be taken with a grain of salt in this game, but it's close to a lot of guardians hearts apparently) could go there primarily. It could be similar to overwatch competitive and quick play. Then the sbmm for general crucible wouldn't be so bad, there would be less tryhards there and ppl could just chill out and actually mess around with different weapons and builds. Then your real stats and k/d would only count from ranked mode where you're supposed to be a tryhard all the time. As for trials... Idk do whatever with it.

I'm not even sure there is a SBMM factor. To me it feels like they just match us with the first players the system happens to find. I mean, if I'm sitting in orbit and the first people they match me with is a premade of five there's something wrong. SBMM to me is nothing but a bad excuse for their crappy netcode. It's easier to blame it on some MM alogorithm than saying "we can't code for shit". And I know there's this "theory" that instead of trying to match based on ELO in every match they approach it as "over time", meaning it will even out in the end. That would be such an incredibly stupid approach that I can't believe that even "Bungie 2016" would go through with it - and I have zero faith in Bungie 2016 so it says a lot. Nor do i experience it that way but it could be because I'm always solo'ing. To me it feels like there are only two type of matches; Matches I'm supposed to lose and matches I have a slim chance of winning if I go huge and carry five 0.5 k/d team mates. There's never a match where I can coast along at 1.3 and expect to win.

It's been terrible since the SRL patch and has only gotten worse due to Bungie's constant tries to fix it.

I seriously think the matching process is pretty good. When on my own or with friends the games are generally pretty close and my kd is normally in the low 1s but sometimes higher and occasionally negative. However i went in with my son whos new and gets about 0.3 kds and the players were a much lower level. I dominated so much i got polite requests to leave, the game sensibly keeps my tier and my sons tier apart.

Bad players are somehow asking for pvp to go back to cbmm But in a cbmm game mode (trials) they whinge for sbmm to be added because they are sick of being stomped by higher players. Can we all take one guess what they'll whinge about if goes go back to pure cbmm =P

I agree and its holding the game back. I want to be able to kick back and play but it's literally impossible with sbmm and not having a group. I went 0-10 in salvage before I finally won a game.

I make sure to use a 3 of coins when I drop into a poorly matched game. Keeps me interested even if we are losing.

3 RepliesPreach. They need to transfer to CBMM and leave it there. It seems like every -blam!-ing game, I get paired with potatoes while the other team gets two solid players and some decent people. While I might be slaughtering their team by myself, they are annihilating my team in droves and it makes it nigh impossible to win, all because bungie wants to satisfy some 8 year olds feelings of fairness (who shouldn't even be playing this game) so that everyone wins and looses the same amount. It's nice to get in a match every once in a while where my team wrecks for a breathe of fresh air but it never happens and it's always just sweats.
