so if was out in the winter wild and casully approach a wild wolf it will not attack me?

If you were lucky enough to actually find a wolf (wolves don't like humans very much, and they tend to stay away from us... And believe me, they know you are there long before you know about them) then yes... I can guarantee that (unless you provoke them) they will leave you alone.
