Autistic child banned for no reason

My son brought it to my attention that he was banned on his ps3 account because he killed a Fireteam during iron banner. After reading the rules, I can attest he has no modified game, console or any device that makes his game better. Simply because he plays this game every day most of the day is why he destroyed them. I spend enough money on destiny for both ps4 and ps3 versions. I want bungie to email me and make this right or I will consider this a act of discrimination against a disabled child. • Just so you know, I've removed your personal contact email from your post out of your own privacy. It's not a good idea to post personal information on open forums. In regards to in game ban/restriction, you can find Bungie's policies at this link that all players agreed to when making their account.

  • Last month a woman said she was banned due to discrimination because she's a woman. Bans and Restrictions are not done just due to player reporting. Logs are analyzed, and if either historic lag was found or signs of network tampering then a restriction is handed out. Not simply for "doing too well" An autistic kid could still have improperly setup internet. Again, that's assuming I believe your story. Because for all I know it could be your friend who is not "on the spectrum" that got restricted for lag switching. Personally, I simply think this is just the more creative reply yet to a restriction -- and is EXACTLY why they don't allow debate or retractions.

Hey chesterfam14, I know you've already received some responses, but I just wanted to be clear. Did your son receive a restriction or a ban? Bans are permanent, while restrictions are only temporary. Bungie will not discuss or overturn either of these things. Please see the Destiny Account Restrictions and Banning Policies for more details. If what your son received was a ban, then there's nothing to do. The account is done for and will never be able to play Destiny again. However, if a restriction was received, it was most likely due to a poor internet connection. If this is the case, please check out the Network Troubleshooting Guide. I also wanted to add this, Bungie will not punish unless there is a reason. Having multiple people report someone just because they're too good will not do anything. https://mobile.twitter.com/DeeJ_BNG/status/738841560738070529

I think it's worth noting that if he is banned, it's not for out playing another team. Bungie don't just ban people on the back of a report. Recently they've been handing them out for connection issues and the like. Hope you get it sorted but you're accusations are completely without any proof, unless you have a message from Bungie saying they were banned for the reason you give. Oh and definitely edit out your email, there's some awful people here you don't want to have it. Try messaging Cozmo directly, he's normally pretty reliable for sorting these kind of things out.

      • The very sparse history of crucible matches on the profile make it pretty clear you're lying. Go get attention elsewhere.

      • Really? playing the discrimination card? :/ If your son was banned, it was not because he was autistic. It could have just been a case of constantly going into games with a bad connection or being on a fireteam with somebody who is cheating. Bungie can't make exceptions for people just because they are disabled. For example I have slight cerebral palsy in my right arm/hand which makes it slightly more difficult to tap the trigger quickly and react as fast as other players. That doesn't mean I'd be allowed to cheat using an altered controller. Also do you know for a fact that it's banned? It may just be the fact he's on a Legacy Console which no longer has access any live events such as Iron Banner or Trials of Osiris.

        • Likely the ban was an overreaction, however, your child's disability has nothing to do with the ban and is not discrimination. Stop using it as an excuse.

        • I don't know why your child was banned. I would say likely a bad internet connection. You don't get banned for being good at the game. You certainly don't get banned for having a disability. Not to mention there is no way they can tell someone is disabled by their gamer tag, k/d, or internet connection. Claiming discrimination is just beyond ridiculous.

Don't play the discrimination card. The fact that he has autism has nothing to do with this, that fireteam doesn't know anything. They got angry and all reported him and he got banned. Resolve it with a Bungie employee and it's over with, and the fact that he's autistic doesn't matter. If I'm right, autism is a social communication disorder and a social communication disorder won't get you banned.

        • I would suggest removing that email from this post, and then directly message a destiny rep on the forms, use this post as a push off point if things don't go well, but putting your email out there like this is a good way to get spam.
