TLDR: Bungie doesn't really care if solo players can play or enjoy Destiny. It's a very solo-unfriendly game. That should have been obvious from the beginning. They've built the game in such a way that solo players can play a large part of it, but not all of it, and they continue developing the game with this focus in mind. They could be more solo-friendly without degrading the multiplayer aspects of the game, and they've even got data suggesting a large percentage of solo players would benefit from this change, but they refuse to follow through.
