The novelty of a Pokemon themed mobile app wore off and everyone realized how shitty and broken the game is/was. The gameplay is as simplistic as you can get, swipe the screen and watch a ball get tossed, there's absolutely no story or context, or any reason to actually do anything. You can't battle or trade with your friends and there are no leaderboards at all. The tracking system is beyond broken, the devs shut down 3rd party tracking sites, and lastly, it's pretty much useless for people in rural areas with few Pokestops. Makes me chuckle a bit thinking about how much it was hyped, and then how it crashed and burned before it even released in every region.
