Well, considering someone "beat" it in 30 hours, I am sure that the review scores will reflect how short the game can be.
English
-
No. Destiny is short. A game advertising a 6 hour story mode, is short. 30 hours is effing long for game these days.
-
Why do people seem to think 30 hours is a small game? That's over the average in most games? Even the Witcher 3 can be completed in about 20-25 hours of you just do the story missions.
-
How do you judge the ""ending"" of a game that is infinite?
-
The discovery of the center of the galaxy, which is known to be the end goal.
-
So i guess witcher was penalized because you can bet the main story in a similar amount of time, right?
-
I am sure some people were dissatisfied with the Witcher for that reason. Comparing an RPG and a game solely focused on exploration seems a bit silly to me. I personally do not care about the length of games, so I do not use it when evaluating a game's worth.
-
That's exactly it though. Its an exploration game with infinite things to see. If you wanna ignore all that and shoot right for the center, that's all on the player and cant fault the game for that. Not saying you do or will, but those you say will have an issue with it only taking 30 hours to get there are doing it to themselves. The game isn't forcing them to play that way. And think about it, 30hours to just do that isn't a small amount of time either.
-
So when you get to that you shouldn't keep finding new planets and species? New gear? New languages?
-
No, you shouldn't do anything. It is a game. There is no obligation involved. Some people are only concerned with concrete objectives. To them, finding the center of the universe is the game. Nothing more.
-
That can be said for all games.
-
Yes it can.
-
And we are talking about objectives in-game. Your point is off-topic.
-
My point is very on-topic, and relevant to the nature of gaming as well as the incredibly off base set of expectations that have sprung up around modern gaming.
-
They are looking for objectives when there isn't one.
-
Universe, the goal is to reach the center of the UNIVERSE! Why do people keep getting this wrong?
-
They have simulated a galaxy, not a universe.
-
People may be getting it wrong because it is a relatively insignificant detail, especially to those that are not that concerned with the game to begin with.
-
True, but it's a BIG difference.
