Advanced Infusion The Problem (tl;dr god rolls are hard to get: skip to solution) Everybody knows the feeling. You get that Longbow with Shortgaze and Hidden Hand You love it. Then, you get one with Ambush and Snapshot. Now you're torn. So, you decide to use the Shortgaze Longbow in Crucible. You're outsniped by someone who also has a Longbow, but his has Shortgaze, Ambush, Hidden Hand, and Snapshot. You envy him knowing that RNG will never give you that godly roll. This is not fun, so I propose that Bungie solves this problem in Rise of Iron or Destiny 2. The Solution Advanced infusion. Let me explain. Let's say you infuse a Longbow Synthesis with another Longbow Synthesis. Why can't you transfer some perks from one of the Longbows and replace the corresponding perks on the now infused one? I mean, you are merging two extremely similar weapons together. It makes sense from a logical standpoint Example For example, Let's say you have a 335 Longbow with Shortgaze and Grenadier and a 315 Longbow with Hidden Hand and Snapshot. When you infuse the 315 with the 335, it gives you the option to replace the 315 Longbow's second scope slot with the Shortgaze scope and the first perk slot with Grenadier (and so on for the rest of the perks). These perks would then carry over from the 335 Longbow onto the 315 Longbow. Which will now be light 335. Balancing/Implementation Now, I understand that Bungie might have some issues with the balance of this system, possibly as it might lower the amount of grinding and replayability. So here's a list of ideas to solve that potential issue: 1. Make this only a special type of infusion, requiring hard to earn materials. 2. Make it only available at certain times. (For example, a character similar to Xur could come on weekdays or weekends to perform this advanced infusion) 3. It could be limited to one perk per infusion, as opposed to allowing two or more perks to be applied to a weapon in one infusion. 4. Advanced infusion and regular infusion could also be mutually exclusive. (If you advance infuse a 335's perks into a 310. It gets the perks but stays at 310, but if you regularly infuse, it gets no new perks and becomes 335.) I think this would greatly improve the usefulness of bad rolls with one or two good perks, making drops feel much more meaningful. Also, these are just a few ideas. Comment any others below, so I can add them if they're needed. Keep it classy, Guardians.

  • A type of infusion that adds elements to kinetic weapons when infused and return elements to raid primaries.

  • In general a lot of people want something like this more specifically reforge. Me I personally like your basic idea here more. Have a special infuse like make it armsday only, so Wednesdays. Have it like you suggested infuse a higher level weapon but no power increase, only works on the same weapon (ie infuse a longbow with another longbow), you can pick 1 perk to transfer, and I would say make it cost a good bit more (increase the normal cost, add in planetary materials and marks). If bungie wants find a way to make it so you can only special infuse once if that will make them feel better if possible. Otherwise people will ask for reforging to come back and that was terrible. Good idea in general but terrible since people could just constantly reforge over and over and over and over, etc till they have the perfect weapon. Your idea give people at least gives people the chance to get perks they want on a weapon and bungie still gets the grinding they want since you have to infuse thr same 2 weapons together rather than any weapon of similar type, primaries with primaries, chest armor with chest armor, etc.
