Ok. I'm a shotgun rusher. Never used snipers, simply don't have the thumb skill. And before you all look at my KD and give me grief, I'm old. Real old. Never played a game like this before and had a thousand games before I was ever positive. But I have decided to learn to snipe for what it's worth. So what sniper/combo/perk would you MLG's suggest a scrub start with? I'm pretty sure I have one of almost everything.
Thanks in advance. Pvp only.

1 ReplyPraedyth's revenge! Great sniper for rookies, master that gun and sniping will be easy afterwards.

Shortgaze or Longview SR10. Eye of the Storm Hot swap, hidden hand or unflinching. Quickdraw, snapshot, rifled barrel, small bore. Longbow is your best bet too as it's base aim assistance crazy sitting at 68.

Longbow or LDR. Then last word. Voila! Positive kd in no time!

Tamar-d its a gunsmith sniper so have a look for it when it shows up or new monarchy one its same stats just faster reload I personally like them its agile and headshot reticule is huge and any of the 1000ys , ldr, longbow once competent Try looking for perks along the lines of outlaw, partial refund, unflinching, hidden hand and probably most important If its got armor piercing put it on can't get enough impact on snipers

The IB sniper is good for oldies like us because it's got a high rate of fire but I got a great LDR roll. Shortgaze, snapshot and hidden hand. It's on my Titan. Good luck old timer!!!! The struggle is real keeping up with these young guardians!

High impact. So... - LDR - Longbow - Eirene RR4 - 1k Yard Stare - Her Fury etc. Black Spindle archetype has higher impact but these are all exotic and generally don't have PvP friendly scopes.
-
Weylorans march has the highest aim assist, but it's not able to rez snipe.
-
3 RepliesI find the Defiance of Yasmin to be a good combination of impact, ROF and scopes. But a good 1KYS is obviously great, and guns like Weylorans March and Stillpiercer are also good (though the former is too low impact for me, I don't think it even 1HKO a ramlock). Also, trials sniper is decent. Good luck!

The iron banner sniper. Pretty easy to hit shots with that thing.

1k stare short gaze scope, snapshot and I quite like outlaw as well.
Just an opinion k
IMO I would learn on something with a bit less aim assist initially. Try an Eirene with the lowest zoom scope. But the biggest and best perk you want is quickdraw and or snapshot. That makes a world of difference. Figuring out where head level is also really important. That is just something that comes with time after you force yourself to pre aim just by eyeballing distance, height, and movement. My next fav perk is unflinching since you can quickscope and be less likely to have your shot miss. Hope thats helpful

Ldr style. Hidden hand, shortgaze/ambush, QuickDraw, last resort/eye of the storm
-
2 RepliesGet a high impact sniper. They do more body shot damage and can kill supers. I would suggest a 1KYS, Longbow, or an LDR.
Longbow has low ammo reserves. Since you're new to sniping, I would try one of the other two.
The best answer: Who gives a shit what other people think. Find a gun you like, and use it.

6 RepliesWell according to the forums, they are as follows: 1kys, Longbow, weyloran's March, glass promontory. Shortgaze/longview slr10 (Anything goes here) or last resort Quickdraw/snapshot Hidden hand And finally defiance of aim assist.

Her Benevolence for regular pvp (old Poe actvities) Longbow Synthesis for trials and iron banner (Crucible rank packages)

Ldr kills me alot
