I'll be honest here, I have loved this game ever since the start, and some of my best memories existed back in the good old days of Year 1. That is not to say that Year 2 was absolutely boring and dumb, but Year 1 was just a good year. I'm extremely glad that most exotics were able to make the leap onto Year 2 power levels, but one thing always bothered me: What about all of that Raid gear sitting in my vault? Think about it. How many hours did you spend in the Vault of Glass or Crota's End just praying that you got the Foil or the Black Hammer? How many times did you run through the Prison of Elders and killed Skolas to get those sweet looking Fallen weapons? Elemental primaries anyone? So, why can't we ascend all of our hard work into our latest adventures? I want to run through King's Fall using my well-earned 335 Fatebringer. I want to do a Challenge of Elders using a 329 Oversoul Edict. How about a Nightfall using Kellbraker set? And why stop there? What about the Stranger's Rifle? The Murmur? The Vestian Dynasty? All of these beautiful legendaries left behind in the march toward more progress. We worked hard for those Raid guns and armor. Destiny is great the way that it is, but we could have so much more. It would add so much more variety and fun to the game. Nobody wants to only use the Zhalo on Arc Burn strikes. Bring it all back Bungie. You're making good steps by bringing back such fan favorites as the Longbow Synthesis, the Shadow Price and the Zombie Apocalypse, but we all need more. Maybe not even at the beginning of the Rise of Iron expansion, but after a few months perhaps? You probably won't even look at this post to be honest, but I hope it will gain significant following. Sure, you say that it will not make sense to bring back all of these old items due to the ever chugging story, but you can always make it make sense. This is a wound in your otherwise mostly clean game at this point in time, and "The wound is not deep, but you know it exists- and that is enough." -Khepri's Sting

Step 1: Up the raid difficulties to year 3 difficulty (no need to mess with it like Prison of Elders, they were perfect the way they were) Step 2: Rework the raid weapons and remove the burns. Step 3: Add a chroma like item that allows players to put the burn of their choice on weapons. Step 4: Re-add all weapons in year 1 to the loot table with the infusion perk. Step 5: Profit. Imagine Destiny with every gun that was in year 1, year 2 and year 3? And with the players being able to choose what primary has what burn there would be plenty of diversity!

Me after Destiny 1: VoG and SIVA gear.

That involves letting the player play the way they want Which if you've been here since day 1, you'd know that is the opposite of their intention

We need transmog/ vanity slots for armor in destiny! At this point in the game we could use a sprinkle of customization like that. Adding this would: 1. Add replayability to old content. Raids, old Poe, EVERYTHING! 2. HONOR YOUR VETERANS! The players who have been here since the beginning deserve this. We've dealt with the worse of the worse. We've been nerfed, deceived, and let down. Grinded for days, weeks, months and years. For what?! To have our hard earned goods smashed down to dust. 3. Making use of talented artist. We have dozens of armor sets that drop from green and blue engrams. All of which look A LOT better than the legendaries that are being put out. Why hire a content creator to make gear that guardians use for a couple hours. Sounds like a waste of money and resources. Please bump if you agree so we can get Bungie to notice a good idea.

I reckon they should keep going in the re-earn direction for Y1 legendaries. But i want more Y1 legendaries in packages! Wizard 77 & Plug one.? Pulses? Rockets? No-one uses fusions (sadly) so why dig a bigger ditch for the "master blasters" by not even giving outstanding options. Shotguns have PC +1 and snipers have the Longbow (<3 that gun. Learnt to snipe on it, but I'm still shit lmao). Re-earning gives all players a better chance to encounter the weapons, as they would be reintroduced into activities, and would have to re-earned to infuse them.

"we wanted to lie to you by saying that we'll bring back raid stuff because you stopped using it." Luke Smith, 2015.
-
In full honesty, there was more diversity in Y1 than in Y2
-
Your not getting your OP Y1 guns back. No elemental primaries. If they give your the armor but no guns you will just use that as the excuse for the next post. Even if they redid the gun to fit y2 or y3 standards you will cry about that also. Y1 stuff broke the game. Made it to easy. It was remove them or raise the difficulty to the point any one that could not finish the raid would be unable to play any new content. Removing them was the lesser of 2 evils. The choice that did not affect NEW & LESS SKILLED players ability to play was the right move.

Bungie said when they designed weapons for vanilla that on a scale from 1-10 they we an 11. That's why they won't come back, they were too good. There has been a down hill progression in quality that has been on purpose. They don't want players clinging to their loot, they want players to search for newer more powerful loot regardless of quality. If year 1 was as good as it was ever going to be then why would you ever need to play anymore content except for infusion fuel for your year 1 gear. As much as I miss my raid gear from year 1 I scrapped all of it. I do see the truth in what DeeJ said about playing with the same weapons for 10 years would be boring as it would be. It's time to let go of the past.

the guns would be op but this a**hole of a community wouldn't understand cause there only 12 year olds

I miss Kabr's gear. :/

Please Bungie... Please.

That's something we (most of us at least) were against this leave-stuff-behind idea since the interview with the master of public relations, Mr. Luke "Money Thrower" Smith (when we found out that no more elemental primaries or y1 stuff was equal to "more diversity"). I never got the VoG set, since I just did the Raid once (I was a noob in y1, getting the hang of playing fps with a controller). And after TTK...well, never bothered to go back, but I think that was the best Raid so far. KF I thought it was boring...too much puzzle for my taste, but I know most liked it, so just did twice...and will do another (hopefully) just for the moments of triumph (only missing some fragments and to kill Oryx HM).

They won't do this. They'll need the Y1 weapons as "DLC bait"
-
They have stated a few times, but no one pays attention, that elemental primary's are not coming back. Not only were they the best guns in the game because of the burns they had but they also had some of the best perks available period. That's why they're not coming back. If they ever did due to fan demand, a.k.a. crying, I doubt they would be exactly the same as they would be OP compared to most of what we have now. I'm fine with the primary's staying there. I also think there are issues tied to the economy of the time with the ascendant shards and those items being brought forward as well as in game data etc.

Hellz hey!!!!!
-
If they didn't bring Y1 up to Y2, what makes you think they'd consider bringing Y1 to RoI? in fact, judging by all the new weapon screenshots for RoI, most likely Y2 will be Left Behind to make the RoI Reskins seem Relevant. We have seen this pattern before, you should recognize it by now.

I agree I would love to be able to infuse my Fatebringer and many more year 1 gear to use in the latest adventures.

If Black Hammer came to current light levels, what would be the point in Black Spindle?
