until they start handing out bans to the people throttling their connection this will continue.
overwatch did it right from the bat, you mess with the game and you are perma banned. quite simple and straight forward and would make crucible, IB and ToO a much nicer place to play.

I think cheating should always be a straight up ban. These are video games. There is no need to cheat ever. Notoriously bad connection should get a temporary ban. I understand that some players live in areas where you can't get a good connection so maybe there should be a special lobby for people with a ping over a certain threshold.

well overwatch set their stall out quick. before the game launched they warned that anyone caught cheating would be perma banned. in the first week alone they put out they had issued a perma ban on over a thousand people. if you stop that kind of thing quick then it doesnt spread. the amount of people throttling, lag switching and ddossing right now is crazy. if bungie came out and said simple 2 strike rule. first strike on cheating is all your loot is taken and a 1 month ban, if this is repeated then a perma ban from any crucible activity I wouldnt mind. They have a mimimum requirement to play crucible with it being p2p. lots play it but dont seem to be at that level. I am hoping they drop dedicated servers in so everyone can play. but if not then those players shouldnt be allowed to play anything in crucible. Its 2 years now of crucible being a mess because people who dont have the required net speed playing regardless of the fact its ruining 11 other peoples game time.

They just handed out a shit ton of bans after that 2nd patch last week. Search for ban/banned in the forums and get your popcorn. They're whining and self incriminating. Even players who do it and haven't been banned yet are commenting out of fear of being banned.

Do you have a link to this by any chance? I genuinely haven't seen any evidence of anyone being banned.
