yeah they can. if u have the nerve to afford a $400 console then u afford an extra 10 or 15 a month to get better internet. i pay for good internet with 300 Down and 22 UP and i still get matched with worthless teleporting red bars.

It's a saying you should know. Some people don't want to upgrade something if they don't have to.

But their ISP can. As their paying customers they can put pressure on them to investigate and address the shoddy peering arrangements upstream.

However, players that go red bar in match then go on to win by three or four thousand points IS a problem. I gave done more reporting of players over the past several IBs. If players are red bar before the match, as we are flying in, I report them as bad connections. If they do as I described above, they get reported as cheating.

Exploiting to get an unfair advantage is cheating. Which is what is happening. If red bar players honestly think they're good then they're delusional or ignorant and shouldn't play any PVP games.

So having bad connection makes you a bad player no matter what.

Some/most of the destiny community are kids. They can't control wether their parents get charter or ATNT.

People don't want a red bar the shot registration and kill delay is insanely frustrating. You don't cheat on accident. Cheating is like lag switching and making yourself have bad internet.

I agree. If a player is red bar before the match and is red bar in the match, I will report the poor connection and not report the player as cheating.

Technically being laggy can be taken as a form of cheating because it turns the tide and changes the outcome of a match which is bs. Edit: I made a post about this a few weeks ago where there should be a connection checker to optimize if you are qualified to even play like some PC games have. If you have bad wifi or stealing wifi you shouldn't even be able to play pvp what so ever.

You elitist POC. The issue with that is they'd be alienating parts of their fan base. Not everyone has the ability to be able to afford top grade internet. So, what? Because i can't afford the best internet around i shouldn't play anything online?

The game only requires around 1mbps of bandwidth both ways. What matters is consistently low latency, no packet loss, and a proper network configuration for every person in the instance. If just ONE player is having to slingshot Bungie's database servers to get player data because they aren't receiving the more direct UDP broadcasts from the players, they can knacker up the instance because they too easily fall out of synch with the others.

The experience is 100 % better when green bar. The red bar at the top of the leaderboard would of done even better with a green bar.

I don't completely agree. While playing all green bars I still cant damage someone occasionally, or there is a lot of teleporting by non-blink setups. Just saying. I think the green bar thing is just a visual thing to get us to chill out. While I get outplayed enough to know the difference is when 4 people are team shooting someone for 3 - 4 seconds before he shoots them all and walks away. I'm pretty sure that is a red bar undercover.

Yep when they average all three toons together. i rarely play my hunter or warlock in pvp. it's called an average. look it up. still doesnt give people with bad internet an excuse.
