I've gotten so used to this sniper meta that I have adapted my playstyle to counter these snipers. As soon as I perfected it, I noticed a lot of people using shotguns suddenly. Did they receive a hidden buff that I do not know about? In the last 8 games I have played, I have seen, at the most, maybe 10 snipers. Everyone else has been using a shotgun. Then there's that one kid with the fusion rifle, but that's not the point. I completely forgot how to counter shotguns.

2 RepliesThe shoulder charging Titan has seen a major increase in use because of the nerfs to the other classes. Shotgun works the best to counter.
-
I imagine it's due to a lot of players starting to main strikers, also shoulder charge. Shotguns are the best counter, usually.
-
People are finally starting to hug corners, skate and weave, and stay the fk out of sniper lanes.
-
9 RepliesPeople are just tired of snipers. Still the sniper meta. Snipers are still the go to gun in sweats. Only gun in the game is a one hit kill in every range, yep, the sniper. I still see plenty of snipers, more than shotguns.
-
I get killed a lot more by shotguns than snipers these days, and it's a lot more annoying than getting killed by a sniper ever will be. At least snipers had to aim.
-
What game mode? 6's has always been ruled by shotguns. 3's went to a sniper META after the last debuff.

1 ReplyI think when IB is clash, it leads to more people picking up a shotty over the sniper. The lack of objectives and more free-for-all battle can lead to more situations where a short-range weapon is needed. When IB is objective based, enemy movements are more predictable and the sniper is a better option. I think the week of IB gets people re-acquainted with a particular special weapon choice and that follows for a bit.

1 ReplyThey've realized that sniping in 6s is boring as shit.
-
Cause firebolts got nerfed
-
4 RepliesIt's a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario. Sit back and snipe (as those weapons should be used) you get accused of passive campy play. Rush and shotgun up close and get accused of no skill.
-
I've been using several kinds of secondary weapons lately, snipers or shotguns mostly, also really like fusion rifles, it just depends on the map and game type for me. For example I always rock a sniper on pantheon and bannerfall, and s shotgun/fusion on the drifter or if it's salvage. And I almost always use a fusion on firebase delphi.
-
2 RepliesIt's an ever changing and ever evolving process. As another user pointed out, I've been seeing more and more fusion rifles lately and have started dabbling with them myself (Plan C is brilliant...I never knew this until recently and I've been here since 9/9/14). Titans have become a little more popular lately (June update) and one of the biggest combos out there is No Backup Plans and a shotty. Plus, more and more people are using UR now since they're seen it in action a lot more.

4 Repliesits a crutch. nuff said
-
I noticed it immediately after the sniper nerf. People just switched it up. There's also been a marked increase in fusion rifle usage, which is nice for a variety. Still don't see sidearms frequently.

1 ReplyI got to rank 5 in 2 days last week during ib, almost entirely playing solo. There were some frustrating moments and matches, but all in all I had fun. I did change my load out between matches a few times. My primary varied between The Revelator (hc), Final Duty (pulse), Hung Jury (scout) and Zhalo Supercell (auto). For specials I alternated between Telesto (fusion), Lord of Wolves (shotgun), Black Spindle (sniper), Patch-a (shotgun) and 1k Stare (sniper). My heavy was a rocket launcher with cluster grenades in all but one match where I used Bolt Caster for fun. I ran exclusively as a Bladedancer with Mask of the Third Man. My most common build was Final Duty, Telesto and my launcher. I did not find shoulder charge to be OP, just annoying. The worst was whenever a Titan would miss with their shoulder charge and immediately Fist of Havoc. One of the few times when I do call it "Fist of Panic" =p

1 ReplyShotguns are shotguns. They were already nerfed to the point where you have to whisper in the person's ear before you shoot them. One shot weapons can frustrate some people but that 's just how they are. Try using a shotty in Battlefield and let me know how you feel about Destiny's shotguns after.
-
Enough people have had good party crasher drops for it to be a regular thing
-
1 ReplyIt's ruining PvP. People just running around (Titans) blasting as they go. No finesse.
-
Because its easy mode
-
Good, more fodder for my sidearm lol
-
I'm a hardcore sniper with tens of thousands of kills, but even I have switched to a shotty for the first time since Jan 2015...for one, they counter the hardscopers.. Second, they provide a playstyle that isn't TOTALLY -blam!-ING BORING like sitting in the back of the map and engaging in sniper battles....
-
3 Replieslol, if people rush me with a shotty they will get shit all over by my fusion, always preferred fusion!
-
1 ReplyThe reason there's more shotgunners is because of the Universal Bandwagon.
-
1 ReplyThe lag seems to benefit shotguns but craps on snipers.
-
Go into the 3v3 game modes and you will be fine. As for snipers they only come out on the long range maps. I will admit iv seen alot more but it's probably because I make it so they can't snipe me by rushing them with universal.
-
Cause they take less skill and can get you more kills.
