How do i become a good warlock in pvp

"git gud" Warlock has always been my favorite class with titan as a close second. But i don't think i've ever been very good at using them in pvp. I especially like sunsinger because \[T]/. Anyone have any tips? I wish sunsinger was a support class of sorts, like my grenades blind people during my ult or something and my melee grants buffs for my teammates. So far i've been messing around with ideas: Sunsinger: -not sure what to do here since the melees aren't very effective for pvp aside from the shield, which doesn't let me win melee fights when its up. -I looked into using solar nades with sunbreakers since bungie was cool and updated them, but the second nade charge takes too long and they never kill. Decent area denial for a few seconds. -I use song of flame now to see if i notice my teamates benefiting fom it, but i dont think it makes a huge difference so ill stick with radiant armor. -radiant will is the only option compared to viking funeral and sunburst -blablabla Voidwalker: - loved using it in the beta -I'm trying to synergize energy drain by using skull of Dire aham with relevant perks Storm caller: -looks like i just zap people when my ult is up -building this class seems a bit dull at first glance, but i'm not used to using it.

Self rez is just a perk on a skill, not the whole skill, yet it's be home a crutch for so many warlocks that that's all they see/use.

      • It's impossible from all the nerFs, nerfs, and guess what NERFS that the hunter and Titans are whining about its most likely gonna be impossible to be good at a warlock unless you've mained from the start as a warlock

Voidwalker is insane, nothing manacles and scatter nades, never run out of grenade charge, decent melee and blink! Nova bomb can be used as defence or offence, one of the best classes at the moment. If you dont have manacles use the Ram and axion bolts.

They killed sunsinger unless u feel like using only melees and fusions. Nothing else works on that class. Voidwalker is good but definitely not the best. Stormcaller is horrid until you get your super... You can use arc web to have a chance at one shotting enemies with a grenade but it doesn't work that often. The melee ability range is considered cheap, but it's basically one ranged melee with no chance at a back up melee due to the range and having.....ya know.... used the ability charge. Basically, switch to your titan for now.

Hey there, I see that you're not really getting any in-depth info on pvp warlocks so I figured I could help. I've played Voidwalkers almost exclusively since a month or so after release, got in the top 1% of pvp players in Y1 as well. My best round is 45 kills on Clash, and I've gotten Mark of the Unbroken before as well. My kd isn't looking that great these days because I took a long break from Destiny then jumped right back into pvp. Anyways from what I've seen I use a pretty unorthodox build, so lets get to it and I'll show you the necessities: •••••••••• •1• Build Overview The goal with this build is to make blindingly fast runs at the strays or wounded in their team, getting a kill or two, then leaving as fast as you can. This is achieved through unparalleled regen, high DPS, and low cooldowns thanks to the Energy Drain grenade cooldown reduction proc on almost every melee delivered, and the two charges of Energy Drain charges the Claws are capable of holding. •••••••••• •2• Gear Layout Optimal Int/Str/Dis Ratio: •Strength 50% •Intelligence 20% •Discipline 30% •••••••••• Necessary Perks: •Infusion •Void Armor •I don't know the names of the perks because I no longer have them, but the twi perks that reduce melee cooldown on grenade hit and vice versa are great as well. •Notes• Because Armor and more regen and less cooldown. •••••••••• Exotic Armor: Claws of the Ahamkara •Notes• The reason that you want the Claws is because every bit of your work will be done pretty at pretty much point blank. The Energy Drain melee is one of the strongest in pvp, so when it comes to charges it can hold, the more the merrier. The bonus damage lets you put down much higher hp enemies in one shot. •••••••••• Exotic Weapon: Universal Remote •Notes• You will see later in the build that I recommend the Universal Remote: this is because you can lay down an impressive amount of fire with no forethought to your reserve ammo and, if you're a good shot, one hit enemies from a decent distance. I am often able to gun down people who are slightly out of optimal range before they can take me down with a primary, solely because I make sure to line up my headshots. It may take a couple of shots, but it works. Crowd Control is great too. •••••••••• Secondary: Your choice •Notes• Probably not a shotgun. If you insist, go with a high rate of fire one like Stolen Will. •••••••••• •3• Perks •Blink •Vortex •Life Steal •Arcane Spirit •Annihilate •Divine Order •Embrace the Void •Notes• This is the optimal build to ensure survival in your shotgun-fueled frenzy: when using this build, getting a kill with literally any ability kicks in health regen. Also, a few quick tips for blink: •Make sure you have at least one charge of sprint before and after you blink. (Fun fact: you have sprint charges. 3 or 4 I think, then its 4-5 seconds before you can sprint again.) If you have to, hang back for a couple of seconds, then go in. •Act like you have Glide. Blinking above doorways is a very effective combat strategy. Also sprint or slide instead of Blinking for map traversing (when reasonable, don't hinder yourself just so you have an extra charge of Blink) •Use your head. Picture with me: a long hallway. A lone gunman sporting the cursed MIDA. He looks at you. You look at him. What do you do next? Your first response will probably be Blink>Sprint>Slide>Shoot>Punch> Dance>Point. This is wrong. Instead, try this: Throw an Axion Bolt before you do anything else. This will pressure him, potentially throwing off his aim, and, if he doesn't move, give you a major advantage in this fight. Then, sprint at a slight angle to the shooter till about half the distance is gone, slide for that extra bit of difficulty in drawing a bead on you, THEN Blink directly at and, if possible, slightly behind the shooter. Carnage/dancing/pointing ensues. •••••••••• Anyways I hope this helps, I think Voidwalkers are the best subclass, and I hope you come to seek that too :) Anyways enjoy!

      • Sunsinger is a support class. Try this: Use song of flame with heart of the praxic fire chestpiece. Song of flame will give your allies faster grenade and melees when they are in a certain radius of your radiance super. Heart of the praxic fire will further decrease the cooldowns for your allies as well. I believe your teammates cooldowns can get as fast as 3 seconds for a melee or grenade if they have tier 5 stats. Song of flame recently got a buff that no one really noticed in the April update as well further decreasing the cooldowns. Another support build you could use is the perk that generates orbs after a melee kill with claws or something to be a orb machine.

        • Song of Flame actually does quite a bit, but don't ever expect blueberries to capitalize. If playing with blueberries, I recommend running Radiant Skin for the extra armor. I also run Fusions because they're powerful whether they stick or not. Then Praxic Fire with a max dis duild for instant grenades while in Radiance. Stormcaller I consider a super-based subclass. I build the perks entirely around the super and make up for the neutral game with my own gun skills. For Voidwalker, I recommend running The Ram to give all your melee hits health regen and then throwing Soul Rip on your melee for faster supers. Or, for crazy super regen, run Bad Juju, Obsidian Mind, Embrace the Void perk, and Soul Rip perk.

        • I main a warlock and sunsinger is not the way to go right now. Stormcaller or voidwalker. I prefer stormcaller because it lets me take out a ton of enemies with my super as well as the long reach melee which is great for shotgunning.

Well to do well with any class you need to learn how to not die. What's that? Too easy? Not for some lol But for voidwalker I'd recommend a nothing manacles + energy drain build. The grenade won't usually hit a moving target easily but for objective based play it's a beast.
