Building my first gaming PC

So I've finally done it. I've wanted to build a pc for 5 years now and I've finally done it. The thing that pushed me over the line was actually Xbox's E3 showing that all their exclusives can be played on Windows 10. I've really gone balls deep with this build because I really wanted to get my foot in the door so I fucking tackled the door to the fucking ground and beat the absolute shit out of it. Just one question for all you PC players, I'm looking for a good keyboard and mouse. Money isn't an issue so just give me the best of the best and tell me why. Thanks m8. • Easily $2000, but will bend over for basically any game, even at 4K.

  • Just curious, why did you go with the Founders Edition of the GTX 1080? From my experience, the older non-reference editions of GPU's ran at faster overclocked speeds for more power, though I don't know a ton about the GTX 1080 performance yet.

Cool build. Only things I suggest is getting the GS PSU, instead of the G2. Also, I really really really strongly advise getting the Corsair Air 540 case. It's roughly the same price, but the best case that money can buy. I can pretty much store ice cream in that case it stays so cool. 32 gigs of RAM is pretty overkill if you're just gaming, though. Oh yeah, mouse. Logitech G600. I fell in love with this thing. Better than a Naga for half the price.

        • Dude goto bestbuy and try out some different mechanical key switches. I personally like reds. Right now I'm using a monoprice one that I nabbed for $36 on a sale and I'm in love with it. I would frequent r/buildapcsales to buy one at a good price if you want to save a bit. As gar as mice, it really depends on your grip. Find out what you are, and find out what you need. If you're going to be mainly playing rts and mmo games you may want a mouse with a shit ton of buttons, and vice versa. I'm using a roccat kone military that's great for claw and fingertip grip. Make sure to get a mouse with an optical sensor, as they're almost always superior to their lazor sonsor counterparts. And whatever you do, don't just blindly follow the crowd. There is a huge circlejerk around the g502, and while it's a decent mouse, it's not worth it's price.

            • Dont get a founders edition GPU. They are overpriced. Also Im pretty sure they are blower fans and the aftermarket fans are usually better. Plus I heard people are having issues with thermal throttling with them. Also I would get a regular HDD as well. Games and files are just getting larger and larger, and having more than 750 gb will come in handy. Also dont get an optical drive. You will never use it.

                • I want to build my own PC too at some point. I don't know the first thing or two about it though, but I'll figure it out. Firstly wanna live on my own when I decide to build one. Anywho, I wouldn't spend too much on a mouse and keyboard. I don't think it's necessary to get an "ultimate keyboard and mouse optimised for gaming" and such. Normal one can do just fine, at least in my experience. But I don't use the keyboard if the game allows me to use a Xbox One controller. :] For fast paced games however I recommend a mouse with good grip.
