With regards to the June 14, 2016 "Tripmine no longer attaches to enemies; instead arms on impact then bounces." nerf.
Now the ONLY grenade a Hunter has that sticks to enemies is the Arc Flux grenade. This will be so much fornicating fun trying to fill bounties where you need to kill them with attached grenades, like the 15 I had to do today. And TripMines are the only grenade that can drop a Shielded Carrying Cabal with a single grenade stick.
Secondly there are NO PIECE Of ARMOUR that give 2 GRENADES for Hunters now that can be attached (i.e. Young Ahamkara's Spine is useless tomorrow). Titans have Armamentarium to give them 2 of any grenades and Warlocks can have 2 grenades as part of their Solar ability or gain 2 with Exotics Gauntlets or Chest Armor.
Lastly, if Bungie had actually looked at associative stats for the armor that Hunters were wearing when using Trip Mines, I would lay bets you would see that they were using "Young Ahamkara's Spine". There is no other way too get 2 grenades as a Hunter and the most likely reason for their use is not the grenade itself, but because it's the only way to have 2 grenades! Unless Bungie is adding a new piece of Hunter armor that gives 2 arc grenades. Hunters are now hamstrung on this capability compared to Warlocks or Titans.
And before the haters start telling me I'm whining, I have a 335 Titan, 335 Warlock and 335 Hunter, and I play all 3 daily. I know all their abilities intimately and this severely handicaps PvE Hunter Solar class, especially when trying to fill POE Challenge Bounties!

Hmm i think tripmines were OP and you will learn to adjust. Swarms also better now
-
tripmines were op. Glad they were nerfed

Haha .... no more one hit trip smh #bladedancelyfe -
Although you have to admit, trip mines were not supposed to stick on enemies. If that were true, why can't we stick lightning grenades to people?
-
Well written. One more piece of fun removed from the game. Good job, Weisnewski. You're right on track for "best game that became the worst game" award.
-
me personally I think you shouldn't be able to stick people with the trip mines you can't do that with the Lightning grenadine only sticky grenadines do it
-

Most of the nerfs are unwarranted. Really it's just the evade amd maybe the firebolt nade itself that needed the nerf.
-
As a halo vet I love sticky nades and tripmine was my favorite. It felt the most solid due to no tracking and a reliable stick. My favorite subclass is no longer fun.
-
Yea I dont really get their rationale behind nerfing the tripmines, never really saw anyone complain about them or throwing knives. In fact I saw more threads asking for the throwing knife to be buffed! lol Bit gutted tbh, gunslinger has always been my favorite sub class for hunters in both PvP and PvE. At least golden gun getting a buff in PvE though, but no more orge unicorns :(
-
I couldn't agree more. They need to fix that crap quick.
-
Bump I don't like the idea of trip mines not being able to stick and the spines will no longer be useful which sucks because that was the only exotic armour I liked to use for gun slinger. Reading this update was definitely a let down.
-
It's designed to be a trap, not a sticky.
-
This is -blam!-ing pathetic. Both titans and warlock both have a sticky, the strongest -blam!-ing sticky and they take that away from trip mines. Which moron made this decision?
-
I agree about tripmines being a loss now, but no one has said shit about knives either. 10% less damage?! How many people throw a knife in a Titans face trying to shoulder charge you? I have plenty. Why? You see little bitch Titans doing nothing but shoulder charging and fist of panic.
-
Considering how every Hunter in PVP is now spec'd to have almost instantly recharging grenades, a nerf was definitely needed for this particular grenade. If you've ever played Mayhem against six Hunters laying mines all over the map every 3 seconds you would understand that something had to be done. It's one thing to say that a nerf went overboard. But to completely ignore a problem that exists simply because that was YOUR cheesy strategy is kinda lame.
-
Hunter tears keep me happy :)
-
For hunters being the agility class they really kicked them in their agile nuts. Also love how now hunters are the only class that can't have double sticky grenades. Thanks bungie for another garbage attempt at what you think "balance" is.

Edited by HailMonkeyman: 6/14/2016 7:41:43 PMWarlocks have one sticky grenade....soooo get over it? o: Voidwalker: Void Ball...thingy Scatter Axion Bolts Sunsinger: Solar...ball...thingy Firebolt Fusion <----STICKY GRENADE Stormcaller: Pulsing...ball....thing Storm Arcbolt Seriously, get used to it. You're at no disadvantage here. If anything, Titans have Fusion and Magnetic grenades. Just saiyan.
-
The nerf was warranted though because no Gunslinger in their right mind would use anything but tripmines. They were just so damn good. At least now the seekers will actually be pretty good. Think a solar version of scatter grenades.

It was ment to be a mine not a fusion grenade
-
I get where they are going with the whole can't stick to people thing now, but it needed a buff to compensate for that loss. Didn't have to be a damage buff, something like decreased detonation time to add consistency would make them a lot better as a trap grenade. They definitely didn't need a damage nerf to go alongside the loss of stickiness.
