What you're seeing is a huge shift in culture. The "I don't give a -blam!-" attitude has taken full hold, and its completely by design and pushed by media.

If anything this generation is more thin skinned than ever...

Edited by Britton: 6/9/2016 9:07:59 PMBullshit. Thin skinned people aren't taking over, they've always been around, the difference is now everyone can instantly communicate with everyone globally. so you have more sources of input than ever before. I also find it funny how butt hurt the people with "thick skins" get about people with "thin skins"
-
I'm not butthurt if you're implying that.
-
No, I'm not talking about you, I'm speaking in general.
-
Alright. And there's not too many bad things with a less sensitive generation. Less. Conflicts, less wars, etc. And I can't imagine things would slow down because the smarter people would know better than to not care.

I agree, but being a more thick skinned person means you're tolerant of bullshit. Not that other people make you angry because they aren't like you. That's not being thick skinned at all. To me it seems we have to PC groups. One PC group is super hyper sensitive about offending others, and the other is super hyper offended that people get offended (ironically).
note, when I say you, I don't mean you specifically, I mean "you" as a person for the sake of the example, if that makes sense. Idk, it's how I talk
Edited by Auttumnnnn: 6/8/2016 9:53:16 PMI think there's more to it than that. I think most people are inherently selfish and self-serving. They'll happily get away with anything they can. For example, slavery. It's been very abundant all throughout history. And that tells me that people are willing to completely and utterly dominate and ruin the lives of others for personal gain. And they'll even believe they're right in doing so.

Oh people are definitely that way, but now it's encouraged instead of some form of culture that supports respect, decency, and honor/shame
