Why is Murder Wrong?
Why do we consider killing another human so wrong?
Many like to point of its wrong because how intelligent we are, however we kill animals don't we?
Oh but killing animals is fine they are dumb...Well so are babies, and yet the murder of such a child is considered even more wrong.
Then we have wars, killing is then greatly accepted, we cheer on our own troops while they murder the enemy. Yet at the same time when such an enemy kills "one of us" it's so horrible...
No I don't see a problem with murder, don't get me wrong I'm not going to go out an commit such a crime. I quite enjoy my life, living behind bars holds no interest to me. But I see no real problem with killing another, it's quite natural. Hence why we still do it all the time.
The only real reason it's considered wrong is due to self preservation.
Anyone else have a reason they'd like to give?

Self-defense, protecting the lives of the innocent, killing in these instances aren't murder. Murder is wrong and has to be illegal or there would be blood baths everyday. Jealous of someone, whether that person has the boyfriend/girlfriend, popularity, status, or got that promotion you wanted? Murder him/her. If there weren't laws and social mores restricting murder life would be extremely chaotic. I'm not saying everyone would do it. Most people would stand true to their own convictions and not murder those who have slighted them or stand in the way of their advancement. But if for some crazy reason society decided to give murder a pass- life on earth would become hell.

Murder is an action which aren't right or wrong. Right and wrong are social constructs. Murder is ending the life of another creature be it human or animal. It's right to kill an animal for food but wrong to kill an animal for sport. It's right to kill someone in war but wrong to kill someone who wronged you. Same action bit one is viewed as justified and the other isn't.

Regardless of your culture there's always an extremely negative reaction to killing
-
Because everyone is someone's kid, and nobody wants to see their kid die.

26 RepliesEdited by Joyaboi: 5/20/2016 11:16:59 PMIt is illogical to kill another human. If everyone was required to kill each other, humans would die off and the rule (or lack thereof) is made null. Thus killing someone is immoral.

The ends should justify the means. Take note that this varies from person to person. I have zero interest in killing another human being, but if the circumstances called for such a matter then I wouldn't be against it. Take for instance, the comparison of a robber breaking into your house, making the decision to have a convict put on a death sentence and a finding an old and disabled homeless person in an alleyway. It all depends on the circumstances and one's own personal views. You would make the choice for the convict because there is a great chance that they've committed many horrible crimes and hurt people. If a burglar broke into your house in the middle of the night then you'd have no qualms with pulling out your own firearm to take of them because it would solely be out of defense. Then you have the hobo. One could just as easily overpower them and if you did things just right then you wouldn't get caught and there would be zero repercussions.

Someone murders your family. You have the ability to keep them from going to prison. Do you?
-
Because the other person gets zero say what so ever.
-
I don't know. We justify killing others all the time but then murder is just an absolute wrong. Just life i guess.

PSYCHO ALERT!!!
-
So it's not wrong if I were to kill a close friend or family member of yours?
-
Social, cultural reasons. I think it was labeled as 'wrong' when we were all small trives. Consider this : there were no machines, no fancy techs, only human being and their raw strength. Which means, murdering someone is basically decreasing productivity of your or their trive depending who were killed.

Killing in general is wrong. Whether it's an animal or in a war, regardless if its necessary or accepted killing really shouldn't be seen as a positive action in any light. No matter the situation even if it's necessary for survival or the protection of others you are still forcefully bringing an end to someone's life and that person will never live again. The reason people don't sweat killing animals or bugs is because society as a whole sees them as being beneath us. So even if you kill a practically mindless ant you're still pending something's life and that's not really good or right. Just felt like giving my few cents on the subject.

Why is it wrong? Considering its turns people into psychopaths and makes people paranoid about everything, on top of an innocent life being destroyed.

Idk, let me try it on you and we can decide if I feel bad

8 RepliesEdited by Woupsea: 5/19/2016 2:16:21 PMWe kill animals because it's necessary, not because they're dumb. Murder is wrong because it effects other people in a massively negative way, if you can't see why that's wrong then you need your head examined.

Depends on who's being murdered. Over analytical dirt like yourself are a prime example of when it's OK.
-
Because it takes always the rights of others. Dull your edge there buddy.

technically it's not, in our culture it is merely perceived as "wrong." in reality there is no such thing as "wrong" or "right."
-
Because we live in a society together. We don't with animals. In order for a society to survive and thrive, we must act civil.

Not all animals are dumb

6 RepliesSlaying someone and Murder are 2 different things. If i shot your mom its murder, if i shot an enemy soldier who wanted to invade my country (England master race) its slaying

What I've never understood is why the death of a child is deemed worse than the death of a adult, both are equally as horrible as each other to me

People have a much harder time pulling the trigger of their same race that's humanity for you...
