So recently I read a forums post that cleared up a lot of questions I had about Vault of Glass. And the lore of Crota's End is pretty easy to understand. But what about King's Fall? There are a lot of things that don't make sense to me. Questions like
Why does the War Priest deem us worthy after the totems?
What are the totems/death singers aura?
Who is the war priest?
What is the war priest and why is he in the raid?
What makes Golgoroth so special as an ogre that he's a raid boss?
Why are there orbs in the room that let us do more damage to him?
What does it mean to be torn between dimensions?
What is the relic that we pick up that destroyed the invincibility shield?
Why does Oryx just give us one? It's what allows us to kill him.
Why do the platforms appear?
What are the light-eater ogres?
Why is killing Oryx here, different from before?
Is he dead forever?

But what about King's Fall? There are a lot of things that don't make sense to me. Questions like Why does the War Priest deem us worthy after the totems?
partly because it's a game and we need that to continue, but there is inference about Hive ideology which in short says you have to challenge yourself against everything that is strong, this will be a recurring theme, so we prove we're strong and Warpriest challenges us.
What are the totems/death singers aura?
there's likely a decent answer, but i don't know it, I'll look around in the lore though
Who is the war priest?
he's one of Oryx's best followers, and has the very important job of tithing directly to Oryx, he's pretty much the second in command.
What is the war priest and why is he in the raid?
sorta answered that
What makes Golgoroth so special as an ogre that he's a raid boss?
Golgoroth is a vessel of the Darkness directly, and also guards one of the Tablets of Ruin
Why are there orbs in the room that let us do more damage to him?
they aren't there to damage him, he's there to corrupt them, but we cleverly use them as a weapon
What does it mean to be torn between dimensions?
there's a few arguments I've heard on this topic, it's the process of being taken is one but i dont side with that. It's the curious nature of Oryx's Throne World, it's inverted in on itself and because of that it's neither in our world or the Overworld completely, this is what being torn is, you're being torn into both.
What is the relic that we pick up that destroyed the invincibility shield?
my personal belief is that it's Toland, well his powers but you get the point, this is widely agreed for what that's worth
Why does Oryx just give us one? It's what allows us to kill him.
as i just said, but there's another theory that Oryx actually wanted to lose. Oryx can Take a Worm so it's entirely possible he a Took his own. Then while his Worms will is held tightly in place we starve it and kill it. This doesn't kill Oryx, and frees him from the Worm Gods
Why do the platforms appear?
game mechanic
What are the light-eater ogres?
these ogres are similar to Golgoroth, they are there to corrupt the Light and offer it as tribute.
Why is killing Oryx here, different from before?
killing him in the story mission was evaded when he "took" himself (retreated back to his Throne) the difference is on the raid he doesn't escape from us.
Is he dead forever?
yes....maybe. if there's no tricky business of him Taking his Worm then yes, otherwise.....
If you read the calcified fragments they answer literally every question

What was the post that helped you understand VoG? I only know a rough outline, myself; it seems like most posts I see on the subject are fan lore.

Well for some reason you kill oryx's son and he travels across galaxies to kill you but you kill both his daughters right in front of him and he doesn't give a shit

Read grimoire cards
