Let's be honest here. Anyone who understands a team game knows k/d doesn't reflect a true skill of a player. Personally I think the game would be better off doing away with k/d and only showing wins and score.
But, bungie, if you have such a hard on for k/d ratio. At least use k+a/d to better reflect the true effectiveness of a player. It better shows the contributions of a player to the team in taking down foes.
If I did 90% of the work and my ally happens to get the final pop and I get the assist, the current k/d doesn't reflect that my effectivness in that kill.
K+a/d will.

Put both up. Bad players will have both of them lower than usual though. Won't change a thing.

1 ReplyDo you remember the South Park episode where they made everyone happy by changing the penis size graph to say anything over 3 inches was considered huge? That is the equivalent of showing KA/D. If everyone's numbers are in the stratosphere nobody will feel bad.
-
2 RepliesIts like people who think measuring the diameter of a penis is right if they have only 10 cm lengh themself. If you have a small penis you have a small penis.

2 RepliesIn my circle, we use the K+A/D formula anyways, but even if you use this formula and everyone on the team has a negative K/D, your going to lose no matter what. In order to win, you need more kills than the other team has, and in order to do that, the team collectively needs a positive K/D, which is why people use K/D. Only in trials can you have a negative K/D and win, which is very odd considering its considered the most tense form of competition on Destiny.

That being said I absolutely agree that a player's skill shouldn't be defined by their K/D I agree with that! People who cry about K/D's are prly CoD or Halo players that have no chill N dnt kno how to live haha

To be quite honest K/D's do matter "in a sense" cuz let's say we're doing control, ur team don't get points for having control points secured..they get points for making kills while having control points secured so even if u have 2 control points secured, if ur team is getting merc'd N ganked throughout the game you can still lose even if the other team only have 1 control point.

Love it

That is some logical thought. Thanks for posting!
that is NOT sarcasm either
On a similar note, what is the combat rating? How is it calculated? Is it a better indicator then k/d?
-
2 RepliesWhat sucks is when you try to give feedback some fag calls out your K/D like that's the only defining factor about individual skill.
-
Lmao my kd is shit but thats because i had to lose soooooo many games to get passage coins for my friend
-
You can see it on Destiny tracker, but I agree. Always getting shit for having a .8 KD when I have a 1.2 KAD and in the top 5% of players for control. KD ain't skill, it's just a number.

30 RepliesOverwatch did this correctly where even if you damage a foe and don't get the kill, you still get the elimination.
