In my opinion the issue we all seem to have is that we don't like being one shot by anything and there doesn't seem to be a way to force people off the special weapons because if you can't beat em.. join em mentality.. so why not lower the points earned for a special kill and rais them for the primary kill, put the points and emphasis on the primary.. if you reduced the points earned by 25% on special and increased it by 25% on primary perhaps more would use the primary.. just an out of the box idea.

That would be an interesting experiment but how would that affect Trials? Also, what is stopping them from body shotting me and then switching to a MIDA and killing me?

it unfortunatley wouldn't effect trials and yes body shot and then primary would occur but, at that long range and the switch of a weapon it would give you the chance to disengage the fight , close the gap etc.. for trials they could always have you choose either special or primary.. leave the ammo as it is currently but, you cannot switch to the opposite choice.. either special and be limited in ammo or primary but, no special.. heavy would remain the same.
