I'm a Beta/Day 1 player. I rarely post on the forums, I mainly just read them. People quitting strikes has always been an issue, but I've never seen it happen so often until recently. Since the April update & the new strikes were introduced, its become downright silly how much people are quitting Heroic Strikes. I rarely get even ONE strike where no one leaves. I have no issues soloing most (if not all) the strikes, but I don't WANT to solo every strike, & I shouldn't HAVE to solo nearly every strike. Some days its making it damn near impossible to keep a Vanguard streak going. I wish there was some kind of light punishment for the constant quitters, or at least timing people out of playing strikes for a certain amount of time before they are able to start again. We're all grinding & all in the same boat & just because you want to play a certain strike for strike specific gear doesn't make you a special little snowflake. Man up/woman up & play the entire strike like us normal, non-selfish, decent human beings.

When I actually want to accomplish something I play with friends. When I want to do something because I'm bored I play matchmade strikes. You know what you're in for when the searching for guardians icon pops up on the screen.

Edited by Lil_The_Myth: 4/30/2016 7:53:06 PMIf I join a strike and it's one I have done 500+ times and I don't want to run it in gonna leave. why? there's matchmaking and someone else will join. Also every strike can be soloed

I agree that people quitting strikes is annoying as hell, especially when you are using a vanguard buff for the rep bonus and want to run through them quickly. That being said, I think a lot of the blame falls on bungie for hiding the new strike behind layers of rng to force people to play for hours for a chance at getting it. The strike rotation is complete shit as well, tried looking for the new winter's run with a few friends the other day and it took an hour just to get it with the taken version.

1 ReplyDid a strike yesterday, and I'll be honest...one of our teammates was being "uncooperative" and I just decided not the help much either. But this other dude just kept fight it out, killing ads, fighting the boss. So much respect for the guy and he didn't even back out at the next strike...Omnigul. I made sure to stay with him through that one and give it my all. It's motivating to see another player just playing for fun and not screwing around.

Edited by Cluster: 4/30/2016 4:20:52 PMWell, I would but this is how most of my strikes go Brothers Psions Undying Mind Saber Then repeat the cycle. Maybe i'll get the Restorative mind after every 2 or 3 cycles if i'm lucky.
-
The only time I quit is when people are either cheesing or intentionally ignoring revives. As far as I'm concerned, they quit on me already.
-
I am sorry i never ever want to play dust palace ever again, it is the worst strike ever
-
Tis why I always play with at least one person. Heroics are soloable, but easy with 2.
-
3 RepliesYeh I've ended up finishing quite a few solo because people leave
-
Ugh trying to get the exotic dead orbit bond and we grind our way to boss and somebody leaves. Makes beating boss take forever.
-
Agree, everyone want matchmaking but don't want to play when the game matches you to a game....if you want to do a specific strike then get a fire team otherwise play the game.
-
How about you just back out of long strikes like everyone else in this world.

11 RepliesYou aren't a Day 1 player unless you bought the game and didn't play it for two weeks. You're a day 15 player, but that's besides the point. The moment you start punishing people for quitting is the same moment you are asking for more people to go AFK. This argument is old and tired. You complain about players being selfish yet you want to impose your will upon them and make them play the way you think they should. I will never play content I do not want to. If I get loaded into a strike I hate (Omnigul, Flayers, etc.) I will quit if I choose to. You can get over it. Or, I can go make a sandwich and you can solo it. Wouldn't you rather I leave and my spot be filled with someone else who might want to be there? If your complaint is that empty spots don't get filled quick enough, that's on Bungie not the players.

There's something wrong with the strike selection system. My friend is cursed by the Shield Brothers strike and we logged 30 strikes over the course of a few hours. I was shocked to see literally (I shit you not) 15 of them were Shield Brothers. Like who honestly wants to play the same strike over and over and over again with one strike being in the middle of them. I know I don't. And don't get me started on the 5% or lower chance rate of the Archon Priest strike. *adds a new strike that players have been begging for, makes it super rare to play* Bungie needs to not worry about taken-ating (which in English Bungie the correct word would be 'taking' and 'taken'), and just put in all the actual strikes at an elevated rate. Just please... This is literally 5th grade logic. Make all %'s the same in the strike playlist so that it's random every time and that a chance of getting the same strike twice in three runs is near impossible. It's so simple yet they've made it so difficult.

I played like 10 strikes the other day and the rotation was malok, undying mind, malok, undying mind, flyers, undying mind, malok. And so on why not have a vote system? You choose between 2 or 3 strikes and the majority vote wins
-
Tell Bungie to stop giving me Valus/psion flayers/undying mind every time then
-
When you start buying peoples games and paying for their internet and live/PS+ you can tell them how to play. Until that day, people will do what they want. They play for their own enjoyment, not yours.
-
I dont quit strikes unless I have to leave
-
I will when Bungie stop making them RNG based, I'm sick of doing the same strike two or three times in a row.
-
I've encountered the same thing. People keep leaving because the new strikes have such a low chance of showing up. Strike voting system would be great.

Edited by Scorpius XX1: 4/30/2016 2:09:04 PMBungie gave players '' New content '' sooooo players want to play '' New content.'' Not hard to understand. This is one is on Bungie, not the players. Fix the rotation, or put in a vote option. But they won't because it inflates replayability. Enough with these dumb posts. I don't blame anyone that doesn't want to play Shield Brothers for the ninth billionth time. I don't blame them at all. The whole point of the update was to give us new things to do, naturally players want new things to do, not complicated.

agirlnamedj This is a huge plea to everyone. I will return the favour. I'm looking for people to follow my twitch channel. I'm trying to get enough followers so I can buy into twitch. 1 ReplyYou sound pretty irritated and selfish. Others want to prioritize their time and play strikes they wish to play, and you'd force them to play through shitty strikes they don't want to?
-
1 ReplyIts because I want the -blam!-ing stolen will and bungie decided the strike will be rare as -blam!- to land on and may not even spawn taken and has a small ass drop rate. Sorry you have to be on the receiving end of me and others leaving strikes but...until the fix the strike and its drop rate it'll forever happen. Also I almost always quit the undying mind or whatever that thing on Venus is called.
-
Edited by A Nerfed Hunter: 4/30/2016 11:52:38 AMYeah seems like everybody wants stolen will or something, i have tried so many times to get it played the strike around 15 times and no shotgun so im done, i only quit the undying mind.

best solution would be to be able to choose your map and play what you want only , in addition to a random playslist
