Why Create More Than a Class?
Why do people create 2 or more Titans/Hunters/Warlocks? Am I missing something?

Y1 was to get complete raid sets. Y2 just for variety.

Before it was to beat the loot system. Now if someone does it it's probably cause they like a certain class and want to enjoy the benefits of having three characters running end game content. I've been tempted to delete my hunter to make another titan cause I really like that class but I won't.

You got an interesting point. In year 1 it was ok to have 3 different classes go get a shot of loot and also doing the nightfall's and POE. Now thanks to the infusion system being much easier I plan on making two hunters and a Titan. Not so much into warlocks to be honest.

Some players I know have all three of the same class. I've never done that but I'm told they do that to get one of them upgraded faster. All the good stuff from all three can be put on one. You can only do that if they are all the same. I like having one of each for the variety.

It allows you to share gear across characters so you can run multiple activities for greater rewards. It was prevalent back during VoG and CE because leveling up was relatively difficult. It's less necessary now due to the Infusion system allowing gear to be used as fuel across characters.

I know they did in Year 1 because then they could run a raid 3 times and get 3 chance of getting max level gear. Now in y2, with infusion. Idk why someone would make more than 1 of each class
