Also, a single 5 shot burst/spread can kill/damage more than one enemy at a time. If you "sweep" with it in a crowded close quarters room you can see the results for yourself....or test fire it at a wall for target practice. Every once in a great while I'll see the same thing with a standard shotgun. Although Lord of Wolves behaves like a hybrid in some ways, it's still a shotgun and will always slot there. Can you imagine if pulse rifles fired a standard or even perk triggered 5 shot burst? They'd be the only gun used in this game for both pve and pvp.

Maybe, but with the recent buff every single player would leap at a primary allowing for 2 shot/burst kills even if some were not crit.

Because it fires a burst of bullets, not a spread of pellets, despite it being listed as a shotgun. It just has shotgun like range.

....and it slots in the specials, because it is a shotgun. Just fires differently. Pulses are in the primary. For the few weapons that cross over like this, it gives you the ability to run (for all intent) a two pulse rifle load out. Or in the case of Universal Remote (shotgun slotting in as a primary)...a two shotgun load out. With No Land Beyond (sniper slotting in as primary)....a two sniper load out.
