What Does "Community" Mean to You?

I know that we talk about this a lot in private groups and even out here, but I still want to hear it. Interpret that question however you like. It can be able the Bungie or Destiny communities, about the concept of community, the people that make up a community, and so on. The Bungie community, to me, is about a bit more than people who like the same games. It's about diverse people coming together and enjoying each other's company. When I come to this site, I know what to expect. There are "faces" and names here that I associate strongly to those people. Sure, in our everyday lives people call us by names like Christopher and Isaac and Jennifer, but here, we're not that. We're what everyone else sees us as and what we show. I think that's why the Bungie community is so unique and well-developed. We trust one another, which is why it can be scary when millions of new people sweep through it. That's part of what makes us a community. Branching from that, people on here genuinely do care about one another. People who have met on this site have moved in together, they've fallen in love, they've met up at conventions. Me personally, I've roomed with someone from this site at PAX even though I'd never met them beforehand. I think that's incredible. We trusted each other enough to do that because of the bonds we've made over this site, be they big or small, strong or weak, new or old. Bungie.net is a bit like a home to a lot of us here. We talk to each other about our favourite games and the things we hate about lag, but we also talk about our lives and come here for companionship. We have some genuinely great conversations, even if we forget half of them. I know that a lot of newer members either won't read this or won't really understand, but that's okay. I think that we, as a community, want you to be a part of what we have here. I'm sorry that it's not obvious at times that this place is more than just about Destiny. That's definitely partly one us as a community because we've taken to hiding in private group walls. I think now that the storm has calmed, we should start posting more often in the community section. I mean, the Seventh Column is us. We've got a reputation to uphold. I know that most of this post is just me rambling, but I wanted to talk to all of you, just because we can. I know some of you might want me to talk about other things or provide entitled ideas of how to title our community with a title of...okay, you get the idea. But here I am, about to click "POST" and see what happens. How are you? Are you okay? Good day? Bad day? Feel free to answer the main question, or don't. Let's just do what we used to do. Stay classy, community.
