I like the update except for the special ammo reserve nerf in PVE. It is refreshing
(Update: "Increase in ammo reserves for PVE" is now on the wishlist...)
I am not feeling increased Special Ammo drops. I am running dry way more often. I found myself looking for ammo and not paying attention to the mission or task at hand. I am also getting less heavy ammo dropped and in reserve. I used same gear and HMG and have 30 or 75 rounds less in reserve (dependent on MG and armor). Now we spend more time in the inventory screen popping synth in NF, POE and Raids? All places where we should be working with our mates to bring down a boss. I would rather you not have changed the ammo reserve. Not a good move Bungie. The PVP and PVE changes need to be separated.
My 1k stare = 13, Eirene = 12 total.
An additional statement: I went from 18 to 12 total sniper rounds and had no special drops on a daily yesterday. How is that a buff in ammo drops?
Balance PVP, but don't tell us how to play a game after a year and a half. Camping or balls to wall, we should be able to have a reasonable amount of ammo on the ground and/or in the reserve. The Ammo reserve precedent should have been set in year one not 19 months later.
And still no sterling treasure.

Had a good day with heavy yesterday.
-
You would think its a simple concept to separate PVE and PVP but noooooo way too hard for bungie
-
BUMP!! Bump to this all day....it's a pain in the ass having such a low amount of ammo now. And I'm also not seeing more ammo dropping. I also received no sterling treasure on any character.... Way to go with this download Bungie...
-
Bump I always run out of even primary ammo now

Edited by TheShadow: 4/15/2016 10:38:23 PMIt's on the wonderful wish list that the devs pay so much attention to?
LMFAO
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Ammo concerns in PVE is one of the top issues being reported by players after the April Update. I'll make sure the devs are aware of your feedback.
-
With my sniper(19 rounds total after update) I never spent more than 3min w/o ammo.
-
Damn it. Another big problem with the game mothballed.
-
-
Primary has been the worst. Special seemed to drop a lot day one but it seemed to taper off on day two and progressively get worse.
-
BUMP BUMP BUMP.
-
This. New NF was such a pain to complete, we ran out of ammo constantly, and with one hit darts and so many Taken, we kept dying before we could round up ammo. Not a fan of this new nerf at all. Special ammo drops are awful too.
-
Well you're out of luck, it's never coming back; Cozmo put this on the "wishlist".
-
Yeah it's bad, and the increased ammo drop doesn't seem to be compensating for it at all
-
Bump, thus was crap for them to do and does not mechanically make the game any harder. It only makes it more frustrating. On nightfall we had to do several wipe rounds of ammo gathering while synths were on cool down because ammo is not dropping. I wasn't seeing green or purple bricks even with juggler on (I was on my primary). Felt starved for ammo most of the game and that clashes with the Scifi space shooter genre of the game. It's not ARMA of a military Sim game. Give me my bullets back. And no, I'm not missing in pve, usually make 5 out of 5 LDR shots as critical hits

Did anyone use suros regime in PoE ? I seemed to run out of ammo too fast even with focused fire perk . Will getting a chest plate with extra auto rifle ammo be a significant increase, because I'm not going to chase something useless if it only increases ammo count by 5%
-
I think the 'extra' special ammo drops are IN PLACE of primary weapon ammo drops. That and all the new POE shit is Bullet Spongy. I run out of Primary Ammo all the time now and that is on Suros! Last POE I ended a level with NO PRIMARY AMMO and running through the level there was NO PRIMARY AMMO LEFT ON THE GROUND AT ALL.

Here's a really cheap and not great way to increase your ammo: If you've completed the year one raids and have the chest and boots, equip these before picking up the ammo. It will grant you the largest amount of special and heavy that you can carry. Once you've picked up the ammo, change back to your original armour. You'll still have the same amount of ammo but your light will be back to normal. Also, once you die, it will recalculate the ammo you're carrying based on your currently equipped armour. This isn't a great way to do things as it's very messy and you're vulnerable when doing it. It also doesn't fix the problem that is the dearth of ammo in PVE at the moment. It's just not fun or funny anymore...

Edited by Killlerschaf: 4/15/2016 12:59:50 PMI didn't really notice it in the PoE, but afterwards I tried doing the Nightfall, and getting ammo during the boss fight is suicidal. I definitely sat in that room for more than 10 minutes, not having any special or heavy ammo. Warpriest was no issue, as we beat him in 2 rotations. Golgoroth was no issue, as we did the challenge and you have a lot of time to run around and grab ammo. Since a Touch of Malice can't run out of ammo, Sisters were obviously no issue either. The way I see the ammo changes right now, is that they are a huge nerf to sieging and extended DPS phases. This got obvious when I beat the Nightfall and played some lvl 41 PoE. Without my Invective, I probably would have needed twice as long, simply because of the necessity to run in extended circles to get some ammo. Another thing I noticed: If we wouldn't have had 6 Black Spindles at the Warpriest, the ammo changes would have meant that we need an additional rotation.
-
How much you want to bet, this does not get changed, for a looooong time.
-
Raid - not an issue, PoE 41 - not an issue. PoE challenge - doing miniscule damage to a Boss with primary - not fun.

Edited by CooPehLooP: 4/14/2016 6:07:46 PMJust some thoughts after running the raid 3 times and poe a half dozen, This nerf basically took away the incentive for me to look for specific armor perks. I just go with what looks cool, and if it has sniper/machine gun perks on it, neat I guess. an extra 4 sniper shots or 18 mg rounds doesn't make a big enough difference to prioritize.
-
Probably would've been better if they left reserve ammo alone across the board and just nerfed the amount of ammo you get from the ammo bricks in Crucible. ~A Guardian No More
-
Agreed. I'm not enjoying the PvE experience as much anymore due to the special and heavy ammo changes - I don't seem to get Heavy drops as often and I don't like having several fewer shotgun shells/sniper rounds. I have no problem with the changes in Crucible though.
-
I agree. Ammo drops are scarce right now and snipers took a huge hit.
-
So many nerfs seem to fall into the loss of a guarantee and increased random chance. It drives me insane. Take away guaranteed ammo and compensate with random ammo drops. Reduce xurs engram variety for 3 of coins chance. A second removal of raid challenge guarantee after it being so praised to go back to double rng though improved a little more with 1:1 infusion. Microtransaction gambling. It always seems to be one step forward and two back. But this whole game is based off gamblers mentality and RNG so o guess I should expect this but it would be nice if when they said there was smart loot the first time it actually worked and we wouldn't have had half the problems to begin with
