Is it wise to save exotic, legendary and encrypted engrams till after the update? Have about 50 of them waiting to be decrypted but don't know if its better to wait after the update (12/4) to decrypt them?
-
Saving boots. Where are the warlock's boots?!
-
It only works with packages, because their content will be RNGed the moment you open them. Level all factions up once and don't open the packages before the update.
-
Better question: Does it hurt to save these engrams? (Are you losing out in anyway?)
-
I'm saving some where I have space there's no harm but given bungie's rng would we really know I'm sure my exotic boots will turn in to another peregrine greaves lol
-
May as well, I'm saving some. At worst you'll get some early Cryptarc packages, shards, and possible infusion fodder. I keep thinking to myself, "I could infuse this new item and get almost..." then I remember infusion will be 1:1. I hope exotics have a chance to decrypt up to 320 after the update.
-
Engrams from previous content do NOT historically decrypt into items from new content. Didn't work for the transition to TDB, HoW, or TK. It's smart to decrypt them after April 12 to rank up cryptarc & get new engrams
-
If your about to roll your chryptard I'd save them if not there's no point
-
I say why not?? -blam!- it it's worth a shot!
-
Y not worse case they are 310 and most likely the guns and armor will be added to the loot table sooooo
-
I'm saving for just incase, if it don't pan out, then I got plenty of armor materials, exotic shards and weapon parts, lol.
-
Even if they do not decrypt into new exotics they can still decrypt at higher than 310 unlike what they would decrypt at now. Besides new gear will be obtainable from cryptarch level up packages, so it's better to save engrams until then, there's really no loss in saving.
-
If I remember correctly, I received the twilight garrison from an engram I saved before the update. So I would assume it would work for this update as well.
-
I'd save exotics since they might decrypt higher.
-
It's worth it. I'm pretty sure it'll decrypt into new exotics/light. Only time it didn't work was TTK, and I think Bungie told us that. Also I heard that exotic engram contents are decided when you use them, not when they drop. So using them after the update should allow newer gear and light levels. I think
-
Yes, arms, helmets, and boots. (Is there any new chests coming? Mostly just arms)
-
Not likely. It never worked before. Keeps giving old gear. Best is to get the cryptarc close to the next level and then wait till the update is released before ranking up. That's a guarantee for new gear.
-
What ever engrams you have now is what they will be after the update. If you have a primary exotic engram and (even though u don't know what it is now, we are pretending you do) say it is gonna be a jade rabbit if u decrypt it right now, the out come will be the same today as it would after the update. Its not gonna turn into a red death or anything else. Same with any legendary engrams that you have. In other words your engrams are predetermined right now, it is what it is.
-
If you are not itching for something right now, it can't hurt, because even if none of them become new items, you will still be leveling cryptarch, with a chance at a drop from him.
-
New gear will drop from the faction packages not from engrams
-
Get your cryptarch close to ranked up. Then turn in the engrams they won't turn into any post patch stuff but rather you will get a cryptarch package that might turn into something you like.
-
-
Edge cryptarch and save them. Rank up packages are going to be much more important after the update, edge everything and save engrams and completed bounties. Also stockpile motes and materials for faction rep. ALSO.....on the Monday before the update, switch factions to your 2nd favorite faction (assuming you're currently on your favorite). When the update drops, rank up that faction for reward packages, then switch back to your main faction and do the same. This way you can get packages from 2 factions right away instead of just 1.
-
Kinda stupid to wait until December
-
Edited by OldeSkoolKool: 4/5/2016 11:02:13 AMIt won't hurt. Even if they don't decrypt into new gear, you'll be leveling your cryptard rank and cryptard packages will drop new gear. You can dismantle the other stuff for marks to buy new gear and exotic shards for infusion.
-
Im doing it just to see if I can get any new shaders/emblems
-
You have nothing to lose, cause you can get rank up packages which give you new engrams anyways
