I am so butt hurt over destiny. It was easily one of my favorite games of all time in year one. The crucible was nearly flawless and the pve gameplay and mechanics were different than any fps I had really played. Sure lag was a big issue in online play but in pvp the skilled weapons were King. Then year 2 came along and ruined everything. Sure the pve improved drastically but the crucible took huge, gigantic leaps and bounds backwards. Guns that took no skill to use suddenly became the weapons of choice. Auto riffles and high rate of fire pulse rifles that both allowed you to spray and pray became death dealing super weapons. And the guns that took a lot of skill, timing, and know-how like sniper rifles, low rate of fire pulse rifles and especially last word became jokes; shadows of their former selves. And that doesn't even mention the new over powered sub classes. In year one it felt like only people that were really dedicated to online competitive play even entertained the crucible. You could always tell when some pve-ers were either on your team or you were playing them. Sure I realize that alienates a large majority of players and I realize that is probably the reason for such a drastic change in the crucible matrix from year one to year two but it effectively ruined the crucible for many dedicated, hardcore fps players. And don't tell me thorn, or last word, or shotguns were too over powered in year one. Because there were plenty of times I out gunned a thorn with a last word or a last word with a thorn. Or out gunned either one with a messenger. And if I seen a shotgunner coming my way I last worded that sucker down or at least had a shotgun of my own for him. And I'm not trying to sound conceded and act like I was some great top 10 player or something but I consistently played great competition like: resolve, tripleWRECK,Aegabriel, war bulletproof, last worded and others and I did better than them more than I did worse than them. One night I ended up pairing up with gabe and trip and we played several games together. I loved year one crucible and was pretty good at it. I used to stream pvp and had some trials carries and other great performances and really, really enjoyed playing crucible. You can check my twitch PROjekt_ANOMALY if you need to verify anything I've posted here because you don't believe me. I'm not bragging just trying to state my credentials for analyzing a competitive fps. For these reasons myself and every one of my 10 clan mates have stopped playing destiny. We haven't played in probably 6 months or more. But I still check back in on the forums and the companion app from time to time hoping, praying to see a return to year one crucible. And if I do, God help any guardian that comes across my last word!
