Question for people opposed to OPTIONAL matchmaking

If you go for a drive, you could get in an accident. If you use a stove, you could get burned. If you play sports, you could get hurt and opponents could cheat. If you swim, you could drown. If you fly, you could crash. If you walk, you could trip and fall. If you explore, you could get lost. If you go out in the cold and snow, you could get frostbite. If you go out to eat, you could get food poisoning. If you park your car, someone could ding it. If you go to the beach, you could get sunburned. If you talk to people in public, they could be mean to you. If you go out in a storm, you could get struck by lightning. If you go to a movie, it could suck. If you love, you could have your heart broken. So what I want to know is, if we shouldn't be allowed to have optional matchmaking because our teammates might suck, be mean, not try or quit... Why the -blam!- should we be allowed to leave our beds and risk all the millions of bad things that could happen out in the world? Maybe the government should make laws to prevent us from doing all the things above so we never experience anything bad. Maybe we just shouldn't be born to begin with. Now post some bullshit how it's somehow not the same. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/129939506/0/0

 • If you honestly want it, I'm not against it. But we must acknowledge the risk of having optional matchmaking in endgame activities. No Communication: You can't say with a straight face that players will use the fireteam chat, because they don't in any situation in Destiny. Without communication, things like the Kings Fall raid, almost impossible. How will you say who's the Gaze-Getter or Relic runner? What if you need help or simply need to go to the bathroom? Problems with Checkpoints: How would checkpoints work? Would I have to start the raid over again if I didn't finish it? That would suck. Would there be a checkpoint system? How would it work? How can you structure it without abuse? Is Bungie even capable of making such a system? Problem Players: Imagine you load up to a raid and boom! There's a 270 light player in there. No doubt he will be a drag in the raid and will die at every interval. He can't be trusted with any assignment and everyone else has to pick up the weight. Additionally, a player who simply doesn't know the raid could be a problem and slow the raid down. Not only that, but since there is a lack of communication, no one can tell them what to do or teach them about the raid.
Well don't use it then.
I love this response. Mainly because it's not an argument for matchmaking. Basically saying, "Yeah, this medicine doesn't work, but let people use it if they want." It would be useless; a waste of Bungie's time that they could spend making new content.
