Everyone rages about Thorn and send hate mail, which I don't understand. Half the people that do this are using TLW and 1k stare, lol.
It's a good primary, just like TLW, Grasp of Malok, Doctrine, PDX.
Prolly cause they're bad at the game in general so they blame their losses on anything other than their own lack of skill.
The easiest thing to blame would be their opponent gun and not their opponents skill.

People will complain about everything always remember that but you cant say the gun doesnt take skill.. Yes it can 3 body shit ko but if you go up against another thorn/tlw/doctrine you will trade damn near every time.. You have to hit headshots or 4 tap for the gun to actually be affective.. In my opinion if tlw and doctrine take "skill" then so does thorn.. Its an exotic handcannon like wtf is it supposed to do suck?
-
With it being exotic the dot is what every body hates because no other weapons has it
-
I love using Thorn. It brings back the memories of getting excited when I first got that exotic bounty and how I grinded the steps to get it. Then the first time I used it I could never put it down. :D
-
I think people get upset because it is a year 1 weapon, and it's killing just as fast in year 2. I understand that light level advantages are disabled in regular crucible. I personally don't have an issue with Thorn, nor do I use it.
-
Thorn+Slippery Little Hunter= Salt level x100
-
How do you have moments of triumph? Anyway, my reply. The gun was created by the Speaker to weed out the players who don't like certain aspects of the game. Once they're all gone, the crowd that plays the game is more the same, and smaller, so the Speaker can appeal to their similar interests more easily and quickly. KEY: Speaker = Bungie
-
Thorn kills in 3 body shots and is the fastest firing hand cannon archetype, also has mad range. There is no discussion that shit is overpowered.
-
It's funny how half the people who complain about it are probably year 2 players that are lucky enough to not have experienced the thorn meta in year one... To the veterans that complain, they are just mad cuz they can kill everyone except thorn users. We need a gun that can take out TLW and Doctrine users. Lucky for us, thorn is perfect! To the people who don't complain, well those are the people who are probably using thorn right along with you...

DOT nuff xplained bruh
-
Praise the darkness and let the hatred flow through your veins! Thorn is unholy. Thorn defeats guardians with one shot. The first round that hits a player destroys them psychologically. Their screen turns green, their health is depleting. They're not dead but they've already conceded to it. Thorn consumes all. Thorn eats your screen and your soul. It makes a player angry, hatred dulls their senses enough that they continue to sacrifice themselves to its glory. Thorn does not discriminate. All guardians are its victims, waiting to be consumed, devoured, and ultimately turned to embrace it. Thorn is eternal. Nerf could not stop it. Time cannot stop it. There is no shame in fleeing, aside from the cowardice and failure of it.
-
It's less than it was but it's still a scrubby weapon
-
Well it was game breakingly strong for six moths, and despite its nerfs, it's still probably the strongest primary in the game. And TBH having an exotic effect that excuses you from headshots is kind of just a shitty concept to begin with.
-
Thorn is as much OP as The Last Word is. I'd rather come up against Thorn users over TLW users any day! Thorn users actually have to aim!
-
Why should I lose a 50/50 gun fight to thorn, when it's a year 1 weapon. Very strange
-
Lmao this is a real cherry picked biased post, congrats
-
I was glad to get thorn from a year 1 exotic engram. I had it on my xbox360. Did the bounty with void shotgun and mg. It was tough on a hunter. First time in pvp. Two days after I got it, they nerfed it. Then I switched to ps4 and lost it. Got it 2 weeks ago and I love it still. Fun in pve and pvp. Doesn't seem op like it used to. I forgot how smooth it was. It's ok to use. It's a shadow of its former self.

Plz Buff Thorn
-
I no longer care about it in y2, but its history wasnt so respected.
-
I don't really care about it now as much as year 1, like the old Thorn was 81 headshot from near any distance, along with a burn time that matched firebolts with Touch of Flame that burned for 7 each tick. Now it's 81 to the head if you're near point-blank and a 3 tick of 2 damage each time, along with having shitty accuracy and the Cone Effect hand-cannons have now, makes it a lot less annoying to be killed by than the Thorn.
-
If you use last word and 1k yard stare (the combination), you can't complain about thorn. But I really understand that you're complaining about Thorn when facing it with other weapons.
-
No everyone hates the weapon that played trials year 1 and tried to go against the meta it's a frustrating gun that was 3 shot walk away kill no matter what so there's hate for it. Now it's a little more balanced it's not so obvious to people that didn't play a Competitive game mode trials year 1 where thorns the only weapon you could use to stand a chance
-
Back in year one, it was over powered with the DoT, strong impact, handling, range, and stability. In year two, it's like the weapon "that shall not be named", because it was the super weapon that (almost) everyone silently agreed not to use.
-
It's a great gun. Only problem I have is any teabagging after a body shot with a Thorn is plain douchebaggery. I was engaging an enemy and a guy shoots me in the back with a Thorn and teabags. Like, really? If he would have shot me out of a super or a sniper shot then yeah, but a back shot while I'm halfway dead anyway? It has its advantages and most of that is is it can make a non accurate player think he's skilled. In the hands of a skilled player it is a beast. Most skilled players scoff at Thorn users because they want a challenge. I'm not saying I'm skilled I'm just giving my two cents on why people look down on a gun that allows you to shoot and find cover and the burn kills the opponent. But like you say, it's exotic for a reason, but a lot of players feel it's a crutch. Year one TLW was even more of a beast IMO. As was the Vex. I just wish they wouldn't have nerfed anything and we would have a bigger variety weapons to counter.
-
Because some turd can knick your toe from snipers range and turn your screen green for 5 seconds.
-
I dont use thorn but to me its a very fair gun. I think people hate the green burn and remember it. Not nearly as irritating as conspiracy d
-
I get killed an awful lot due to the fact I'm pretty bad at pvp. But thorn in y2 just hasn't been a problem for me and I don't get salty when I do happen to get killed by it. Just not nearly as op as it once was
-
Mainly because seeing everyone use it in a match makes it very irritating.
